Xbox Game audio not playing

I am having a very particular problem; the audio on my Xbox one works for everything except for certain games.

The me nu audio works, when i get achievements the notification sound plays, when i watch videos on Netflix/ blu ray/ amazon video the sound works there. It even works on other games. But for some reason, certain games just will not play audio.

My xbox sound is coming directly from my tv (No external or 3rd party speaker systems). I even tried it with gaming headphones but it still didn't work.

I have tried checking the settings in these games and they are all fine. Also, the game audio worked fine up until about a week ago.

the weirdest part is that not all games are affected by this. 2 games in particular that are affected are Rocket League and Dark Souls 3.

I have no idea what is causing this and it seems very odd.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Xbox 360 controller does not support game audio to be played through the controller's audio port.

The audio port is only built for headset voice chat.

I have the x12s i get game audio just fine and i can hear chat but chat is very low, also my game audio plays through the audio, so I have game audio then have chat with the echo of game audio, so i have 2 game audio sounds with a faint chat audio. anyone
know of a way to fix this, or atleast the audio echo of the game. I can turn my game audio all the way down and only have chat audio on but im still hearing game audio over chat, first time I used it for my xbox one all day I played with just chat audio and
didnt know because I hear both audios through my chat audio.

As far as I know its an issue with the game its self for the sound. I had a similar issue and noticed no matter what a did it didn't come back, but after a while, it started making the sound again. so I would suggest to wait it out for a few days and see
what happens

Hi Harris,

this is a game issue. I had that many times with Rocket League and one time, my friend you went to settings and turned off game sounds for me

It took me too long to notice.

My recommendation: Close the game, if that doesn't help re-install (make sure your safe game is in the cloud).
