Xbox friends showing as offline

I can add the friend from that other profile, but it shows that friend offline (it is not offline or showing offline)

Thank you for the fast reply! I have checked with some friends and they say they aren't appearing offline, also there is very few that do say last online however long ago but the ratio of offline to that is way too much for me to assume it's normal. I have tried every step that you have suggested and still no fix as of yet. I will leave it for a few days and try again if it's hasn't sorted itself out but I'm hoping it does in the meantime. Thank you for reaching out to us here on the forums regarding this situation.

One reason might be that they’re appearing offline. So if you know any of them personally and know that they’re online, ask them to check their privacy settings.

Also, would you please try the following steps and see if the issue is fixed or not:

Step 1: Clear Mac address:

Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate Mac Address > Clear it and the console should restart. It would definitely help if you could restart the internet router while the console is restarting.


Step 2: Check your NAT type:

I would like you to check your NAT type if open because that could sometimes interfere. to check for the NAT type you can follow the steps below:

Settings > Network Settings > NAT type => It should be open.

If the NAT type is not open, you will need to open some ports with your internet provider. These ports must be open for Xbox Live to work: Port 88 (UDP) Port 3074 (UDP and TCP) Port 53 (UDP and TCP) Port 80 (TCP) Port 500 (UDP) Port 3544 (UDP) Port 4500 (UDP).

Step 3: Remove your account:

First, please select System > Settings > account > remove accounts and then select your account and select Remove to confirm then re-add your account.

Step 4: Reset your console:

If you are still encountering the same issue, please select System > Settings > System > Console info > Select Reset console > Choose Reset and keep my games and apps.

Note =>The "Reset and Keep my Games and Apps" option will not cause losing your games, but please be aware that you need to be completely aware of the email address as well as the password of your account before going for it because it will require you to sign in to the account.

I have the same issue as yours.

I never make it appear offline.

Just suddenly, I become offline while I were playing games and party with friends. In this time, I can't get any invite message if they saw me offline.

But I can invite them.

They said they saw me was playing a game some minutes ago. They saw it from the friends lists.

There is an issue going on right now and it is being worked on.
