XBOX Friends list upgrade for better informed players

Hi there!

Thank you for coming by to the Xbox forums. Are you using the Switch or is your friend using the Switch?

Do you and your friend have the upgraded version of Minecraft with the Better Together update? Your friend will need to have this upgrade for you to join their worlds.

What device do you play on? Can you log in to the Xbox app or account.xbox.com?

Give us some more information on the issue and we'd be happy to guide you in the right direction.

Just block anyone you don't want on your friends/followers list & they're gone.

Not sure what your count as better, but the correct way is as below:

1. Double-tap the Xbox button on your controller to bring up the guide and select the Gamertag that you wish to report. If the player is not a friend, select Recent players from the drop-down menu or select Find someone and
   enter the player's Gamertag.
2. From the player's profile card, select Report or block.
3. Select Report.
4. Select one of the following reasons for the report.
   
   
   • Player name or Gamertag: The player's Gamertag or real name is inappropriate.
   • Cheating: The player used unauthorized modifications or attempted to gain an unfair advantage in multiplayer.
   • Player picture: The player’s gamer picture is inappropriate.
   • Voice communication: The player used inappropriate, abusive, or threatening language in voice communications.
   • Unsporting behavior: The player didn’t show good sportsmanship.
   • Quitting early: The player frequently quit multiplayer games to avoid losing.
     
     
5. Select Add comment to provide more information. When finished, select Report.

most of my friends list is from COD players, most of which stayed on the 360, but most of which are upgrading for the nov release.

I do think after october will start to see an increase, xmas will be good as well.

• Friends are people you want to get activity feed updates about and to interact with through party chat and messaging. By adding a gamer as a friend, you become their
  follower until they add you as a friend also.
• Followers are people who want to get activity feed updates about you. They chose to add you as a friend. However, they’ll show up on your list as followers until you add them as friends also. Then, their status will change from follower
  to friend on your list.
• Favorites is a designation that helps you find the people you play with the most (because you can have up to 1,000 friends).

Block or report a player
If necessary, you can Block or
Report a player from the Xbox app. Blocking keeps the player from seeing your activity feed or interacting with you. Reporting is a way of notifying Xbox Enforcement of an abusive player. For more information, see the following guides:

Blocking will not remove a player from the follower list but will prevent them from seeing your activity. I do not think there is a way to remove a follower as any player can follow any other player up to the limit.
