    Xbox freezing up


    Hello all, not sure if I'm in the right area but this was the only place I could find in the forums that would let me make a post.

    Apologies as I'm not familiar with the forums.

    My 360 has started freezing up, starts up ok displays the xbox 360 startup splash screen then freezes and responds to nothing.

    Eventually it will say it needs an update and go through the process of downloading and restarting only to do the same thing again. I did have a corrupt file message once 2 nights ago, said it needed to dload an update and did but still no change.

    No no red lights, this appears to be a programming issue and the flies are all controlled by Microsoft so can anyone help???

    Xbox start up problems

    my Xbox has been freezing a lot recently. Also it has been freezing on start up, have factory reset it twice, still same problem. Any fixes ?

    I can't seem to access any other part of the forums for posting.

    I did once manage to get to the settings before it froze up and cleared the cache. But it didn't really seem to do anything.

    Can't say for sure if it worked really.

    You could try removing your hard drive, and start up the console without it, to see if it`s that causing the problem.

    Yeah I did that too.

    I tried all the stuff listed on the site I think.

    Got to the point where they said I need service. Lol

    Was just hoping maybe someone else had a similar issue and was able to resolve it.

    its because you all have one of the rarer xbox consoles... the ones that can detect a sh!t game and refuse to play it.

    As a follow up to my posting. After installing game to HD I tried again and became stuck on the vertical setup screen and finally, following several expletives, the system responded. What happened? Well...the vertical setup screen shows UP as well as DOWN
    arrows and heaven forbid you try to push up and down on your controller because nothing will happen. For some odd reason the developers decided to make the command controls for vertical to be left and right. You're not given permission (through "Button A"
    prompt) to advance unless you follow this counter-intuitive manuever. (Black Ops setup was up/down for vertical and left/right for horizontal.) Hope this helps someone else...hopefully, I'm not the only one that got stuck at that point. Happy hunting all!!!
