Xbox freezes and shuts down when watching Netflix or YouTube.

This started after the last update. Sometimes when watching YouTube (or Netflix) it will freeze the picture and the audio will stutter real bad then boom it shuts down. Xbox is in an open place and so is the power brick and it's never been hot when it shuts
down, happened once when I turned the Xbox one went to YouTube and played a video for 30 seconds. It plays games just fine never shuts down on me during that. Could the latest update be the issue?

Xbox one S random freeze/crash and shut down.

My Xbox one S Battlefield 1 edition will randomly freeze and shut itself down when I am playing games or watching netflix. It is not a ventilation issue or a storage issue like the troubleshooting page says it might be. Do I have a defective console?

 

Xbox one 's buzzing and shut down

so I recently purchased the xbox one s battlefield edition. While watching YouTube or Netflix it starts randomly buzzing and shuts down. It's very frustrating. If there's nothing I can do this will be the 3rd xbox one I have returned.

 

Does it only happen when you run those two apps? Have you tried deleting them and re-downloading them again?

 

Yeah only those two apps will do it. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling both of them and it still does it. Tried a hard reset a few times and that did nothing.

 

Same thing happened to me tonight, watching a film embedded on Internet Explorer and 7 mins in picture freeze audio stutter then off, this happened twice. So then I flung the film from my phone to xbox and watched the whole film without issue, once the
film had finished I went back to Internet Explorer and tried watching a different film and 10 mins in freeze, stutter and off. This has never happened befor although it's the first time I've tried to play video through Internet Explorer so it could be the
app. My xbox is not hot at all and neither is the brick,....anyone any ideas?

 

Exact same issue. Netflix and Hulu cause a hard shut down within 5 minutes every time, starting a few days ago.n I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the apps and doing hard shut downs. May do a factory restore next.

 

Sorry I can't help because mine is doing the same and I've tried all the above I'm to buy a PS4, im getting ticked.

 

I am having the same exact issue, just searched through the forums to come across this thread. Chiming in to report the same, with Netflix, YouTube and randomly with Internet Explorer when it has to do with video files. Hard crashes the whole console to
a restart/reboot. Only started after this update!

 

I just bought my xbox one today and while playing netflix, it did the same thing everyone else is describing

• First, try uninstalling the app that is freezing.
  
• After you have uninstalled the app, press and hold the power button on your Xbox One console for 10 seconds.
  
• Once you console is powered off, unplug the power cord.
• Wait 5 minutes and then plug in your console.
• Power on your console and navigate to the My Games & Apps tile.
• Scroll to the right and under the Ready To Install section, select the YouTube or Netflix app.
