Xbox / fortnite chat not working with other xbox only ps4 friends

We understand that your son through his child account that you managed cannot cha with his Xbox friends in Fortnite chat. But he can chat with PS4 friends with no problem at all.

This issue seems to be related to account privacy or parental controls. Most probably an issue within the game itself. We highly recommend that you review and apply the suggestions from the links below.

It was an issue on my other sons xbox settings. Weird though cos his also work with other xbox but once I changed his my sons with the problem starting working.

In fortnite the headset doesnt work to a ps4 running it. It works fine xbox to xbox but not with a friend running ps4. I have tried turning voice chat off, ptt off. Accepting then coming out and resetting but still nothing. What else can i try?

Is this issue only happening in Fortnite? Does your mic work in other games?

My son and his friends had this issue recently, where the mic worked in other games but not in Fortnite. So they had to use the Xbox Party Chat instead. After 2-3 days the issue seemed to resolve itself.
