Xbox Fornite Edition controller replacement button not working

I bought a fortnite edition controller. The analog stick was broken so I got a replacement. The replacement does not work as well (wont acknowledge back button when pressed) I tried updating it. All buttons work except for back button. The serial
number does not register for some reason, and I can't get through on the phone to anyone. Don't have proof of purchase because it is a replacement. I just want to talk to support on the phone to explain??? Thanks.

Its a new replacement from Microsoft so I do not have a receipt. It was replaced because the first controller was defective as well.

In this support thread, it mentions a possible controller replacement. I could imagine how annoying it could be to replace a controller for just one button and if you think it's the Xbox that is causing this issue, perhaps you could borrow a friends controller
and see if the A button works on that with your Xbox. If It does, it will be your controller and I'd advise a replacement.
