Xbox for PC (gamepass) stuck at splash screen

Hi,

So this has been a mess. Last night I tried to load the Xbox PC app that i've been using successfully for over a month. I have game pass so I wanted to play a new game. The app just gets stuck at the splash screen. I killed the app using task manager and
tried again. Same thing. I tried a few other things, a reboot, etc... and it wouldn't load. I checked for updates, none. Screw it, i'm going to go read instead. My hope was that it was just a bad connection etc... and that it would be better today.

Today comes around and it still gets stuck. Alright, uninstall the app. Go to the microsoft store to download. There's an ad for the game pass right there, click it. Loads chrome.... Kay... Go back to the store and type in xbox game pass. Game pass pops
up. Click it, loads chrome.... KAY... Type in xbox, STILL DON'T SEE THE APP. Type xbox, hit enter, APP FINALLY SHOWS UP.

Click on it, hit install, STORE FREEZES. Kill store app, try again. STORE FREEZES AGAIN. Open chrome, google xbox game pass, find a support home link on 1st party page. Look for a way to submit a ticket, can't find anything. Put search terms about splash
screen in textbox, takes me to a bunch of other posts that aren't applicable. Look for a way to start my own question, can't find anything. Look at footer for "contact us", find it. Click "contact", Asks me to sign in. Sign in, still no option to open a ticket.
Click on forum option, opens new tab. NOT SIGNED IN. Sign in, EVENTUALLY find the tiny link in the banner to "ask a question" (Why no blue button?). Now here I am.

I work in telecommunications and this UI/UX experience is all too familiar and just as frustrating. The only thing that would top this off is if I hit submit and the damn thing ate my text. Copying just in case.

Long story short, got stuck at Xbox PC splash screen, uninstalled the app, now the store freezes every time I try to reinstall. I'm running windows 10, version 1903. Just updated the other day. Plenty of horsepower under the hood. I've rebooted plenty. What
the heck? Only thing that's changed is the windows update. Any help would be appreciated.
