    Xbox for PC Beta - Cannot install any new games


    When I go to download anything from the Xbox app (or the Microsoft Store for that matter) I get an error code that changes frequently with the message; 'Choose a drive that is NTFS formatted.

    I run in to trouble here though....

    My drives (both of my SSD's) are NTFS formatted. In addition, I wiped the drive and reformatted it and the issue still persists. Ive also taken the liberty of uninstalling the xbox app and restarting it.

    Any ideas?

    Seems like Gears 5 needs to be installed using the Xbox PC Beta App. Please check if your Windows 10 is version 1903 or not. If it is an earlier build the Xbox App does not seem to install. i have this problem with my Surface Book 2 which cannot update to
    1903 due to an issue with that build and the surface line. This means i cannot install the Xbox PC app, and as a result i cannot install Gears 5.

    The store on a regular computer links to your Xbox App on PC which shoudl allow you to install it.

    Yep, same here. Nothing worked. My oldest son installed the Xbox Game Pass PC (beta) on his own PC and did not have any problem. Cannot figure out yet what is the difference, besides he installed it a week before I tried. Also he has an Intel-based PC where
    mine is an AMD-Ryzen build.

    It is very disappointing there is no reaction yet from someone at Microsoft...

    In order to install this game or any game from the Microsoft Store App, you will need to ensure your Windows 10 device is on a 1903 OS build or greater (Current 1909). The easiest way to ensure your PC is ready to go for this game and any other game
    that comes to Game Pass for PC is to install the Xbox (Beta) App with the steps posted here. This will force the PC to install
    an OS version that can run all Game Pass for PC games and allow users to easily find them inside the Xbox (Beta) App.

    Let us know if you have the most recent OS build for Windows and the Xbox (Beta) App and try installing the game from the app as well.
