    XBox Flash drive


    Today I purchased a Scan Disk XBox 360 16GB flash drive. It's been formatted, it's FAT32, and I've tried unplugging disk and XBox. No luck. I will try to play a game that requires disk storage and won't let me. It reads and detects the storage but it gives
    me an error stating, "needs to be authorized xbox storage". Or something similar to that. Any ideas?

    Please tell me this is a sick joke

    You need a 16 gb USB flash drive. It MUST have sufficient read speed 15mb/s

    "This initial install will require an Xbox 360 Hard Drive or an external 16GB USB flash drive with at least 8 GB of free space. If using a USB flash drive it must be at least USB 2.0 with a minimum 15mb/s read speed and formatted for Xbox 360 use. A new USB flash drive is recommended to ensure optimum performance. "

    I would use a Xbox 360 Flash Drive from SanDisk.its a pre-configured Xbox 360 Flash Drive from SanDisk. This official Xbox 360 USB Flash Drive by SanDisk is pre-configured to work with the Xbox 360 console.

    What game were you trying to play? If it was Battlefield 4 then I'm afraid you're out of luck still. Some Xbox 360 games require a hard drive to run. A Flash drive won't cut it unfortunately. You will need an official Xbox 360 hard drive to play them.

    You most likely have a faulty flash drive and not a problem with your console. Try to borrow a different brand of flash drive and see if that new one will work. I've had this problem before with a couple flash drives testing it on another xbox should show
    you that it is a problem with the flash drive and not the xbox. I would recommend getting a flash drive made specifically for the Xbox 360 to lower the chances of these errors from occurring.

    It does Not have to be an xbox flash drive. it can be any flash drive with at least 1GB of space and you can use up to 16GB of that flash drive. your xbox will test it and see if it meets reccomended specs.

    Can you try recovering it directly to a USB Flash Drive? To do so, format a flash drive as a Xbox Memory Device and then remove your hard drive. Then, insert the flash drive and attempt to recover the account.
