Xbox Fitness streams black screen but has audio.

Anyone else have this problem when using xbox Fitness that everything loads but when the video starts it's just a black screen but you can still hear the audio? It seems completely random but my wife is nagging me now cos she wants to do the yoga and can't!

No video, only audio, when streaming the live action sequences (windows 10)

When every I try to stream one of the live action sequences, all I get is the audio. Its just a black screen with audio and subtitles. I have tried calling microsoft and xbox support, but they didn't help me.

 

xbox fitness problems

All apps work fine accept my xbox fitness. When i try to do a workout the video pops up, i can hear it just fine, but i cant see it. there is just a black screen with the audio. I see the little black box with myself in it being video'd from the kinect,
but the actual workout video is black. all other apps work ok

I'm sorry to hear about the black screen issue being experienced while using Xbox Fitness. Let's try out these troubleshooting steps to see if we can get things sorted:

• Power cycle your Xbox One console.
  
• Once the console is off completely, unplug all cords.
• Leave everything unplugged for a few minutes.
• Plug your console and cords back in and turn it on.
• Try using Xbox Fitness again.

This happens to me every day now, and I always have to power cycle to fix it. Why the heck does it occur?

 

Same issue here. I've been having a chat with Xbox Support over Twitter the last few days. So far nothing has fixed it, including uninstall, reboot, reinstall. This is a relatively new issue in the last few weeks for me, as it was working pretty well the
last few months.

Personally I think something happened the last time they updated the app (loading animations in the initial Xbox Fitness screen and the warning screen), since the issue seems to have started about the same time.

Today when it happened, I just played a game of Forza Horizon 2 instead of rebooting again (which was an everyday occurrence lately to "fix" this), then tested Amazon Video to see if that streaming video would work (it did), then went back to XB Fitness
and this time the video worked w/o having to reboot. So now tomorrow I will see if opening another app/game first before launching XBF when first turning on the One (from instant on) is the trick or not.

Note: Quitting XBF and launching it again does not fix the problem, for me anyway.

 

Anybody else with this issue or get it resolved? I have now done a factory reset on the console and still the same problem. So far my troubleshooting steps:

• Uninstalled and reinstalled many times
• Moved installation from internal, to external, back to internal. Doesn't matter where it's installed, same problem.
  
• Tried turning on TV and receiver before Xbox, and Xbox before TV and receiver, doesn't matter.
  
• Tried launching another streaming video app first (which works with no problem), then Fitness, same problem.
  

The only thing that fixes it is a reboot by holding down the power button. Changing the Instant On setting in Power and Startup and shutting the console down and starting it back up did not get it to work, had to do the reboot anyway.

Interestingly after the last reinstall before the reset, only the top 50px or so square of video would appear. After the reset, now I get a horizontal band on the top right of video, like 400px x 50px or so.

I can't see how this can be a hardware problem when every other video app I've tried works without a problem.

 

I had the same issue with the evil within. Rebooting and powering down only fixes the problem temporarily
