Xbox Film & TV App Not Connecting to PC

Hi,

I have the Films & TV app installed on my Xbox One S and on my PC (Windows 10).

For a few weeks it was working fine and when i used the App on the Xbox and went to "Personal" and "Media Servers", i could see my designated folder on my PC and play movies etc.

But now that has stopped working and the Media Servers section cannot find my PC and just keeps saying no servers on Network.

I updated Windows 10 recently to version 1809 and it is still not working.

My Film and Tv app is still not working. Both on Xbox and PC.

For me it is usually Windows Firewall that is the problem. Try turning it completely off and see if that corrects the issue. With my laptop nothing I do (ensuring that file and media sharing is on etc) fixes this. Another is to play the video on your device
and pushing to the Xbox using DLNA, or by screen sharing using the standard methods.

Hey there,

Launching Film & TV is correct, that's the app used by the Xbox when casting to it. Try uninstalling Film and TV them reinstalling it. With the anniversary update it switched from an Xbox App to a UWP app, that might be where you're having issues.

Is it one particular video you are having issues with, or all of your videos? What format are they? Also, Is everything connected over WiFi or Ethernet, or a combination?

i have the same problem. I can look the trailers of films without problem and if I want to look the film I get the 0x800c000b error.

I can also watch trailers, but no films that I have purchased. I have reset my router, reset my Xbox, restored purchase films on the app, restalled the film and tv app, restalled my xbox profile, checked that I'm online. I had an update to the windows store
the other day, both on my PC and Xbox. I can only assume that this has done it. I can't even download the films on my PC.

Is your Xbox One HDMI connecting via any other device like an Elgato Game Capture or through a PC etc? Or is your Xbox One connected directly to your TV?

If you are routing through a capture device/PC try removing that and connect direct to the TV. Some films, especially Disney related will not work if the HDCP rights management can't be completed with your TV which these devices will cause.

If it is direct to your TV have you tried another HDMI cable?
