  1. Xbox fan keep spinning up every 30 seconds

My console fan didn't have any problems before I updated via preview program. The fan rpm keeps spinning fast every 30 seconds, it does this everyday. It sounds like a big jumbo jet engine. It's to the point I don't want to even play my console no more.
I can't even hear the game sound on my tv, that's how bad it sounds.

    :)

Xbox 360 Slim, Loud Fans constantly.

Just ran into this with my slim. It was unplugged for a couple days and now the fan is spinning up really loud and fast every 30 seconds to a minute then quiets down. No idea what's causing it. Was perfectly fine before I had it unplugged for that couple
    days.

    Insufficient Ventilation Problem

Hi, do you hear the fan inside the Xbox spinning at all ? It may be the fan failed or just isn't spinning fast enough to keep things cool enough. If that is the case then you would need to send the Xbox in for repair.

XBOX One external hard drive keeps spinning up and down every minute

Attempted to turn off the option to power down drive so that it would be always on, but even then it spins down and up again every minute. So it seems no matter what setting it's on, it will not

    1. keep drive powered on when in standby

    or

    2. keep drive powered off when in standby

So if it's doing a status check every 60 seconds, is it the drive that is spinning up on its own, or is it the XBOX OS that is spinning it up I wonder?

I have another drive which I have plugged in and tried this on, it is a Hitachi Touro 1tb (usb powered hdd) and it also spins up every 60 seconds. I plugged the hitachi into another XBOX one S and noticed it exhibited the identical behaviour... Spinning
up and down every 60 seconds.

So that's two drives on two Xbox One's. I'm very puzzled. Thoughts?

[XBOX X] Fan RPM goes up and down permanently (4K)

The hardware designers probably were of the opinion, that a constantly faster spinning fan is more annoying than a temporarily faster spinning fan every now and then.
I think you got me wrong. Its not happening "every now and then". The fan(s) spinning up and down PERMANENTLY... every one or two seconds...the whole time i play 4k content.

And i know that 4k rendering produces a lot of heat and fans are spinning up...thats not the problem.

In approximately 20 years of PC Gaming i never see/hear such a behavior.

I think i will contact the repair center...like user "Kieran David".

[XBOX X] Fan RPM goes up and down permanently (4K)

Instead of the fan constantly running, they let the CPU getting warm until a certain threshold, and then spin the fans until the temperature drops under that threshold, then stop, wait until temperature is up again, then stop and so on.
I understand the noise that you hear, as my two Xbox One X (Scorpio Edition) consoles do the same, depending on the game running.

Sometimes it's 10 to 20 seconds until the fan spins up, or as you say every one or two seconds.

The fans doesnt stop & go...they change their speed like a sine wave. every 1 or 2 seconds. for example 3000 rpm....5000 rpm...3000...5000...and so on. That sounds awful. I'd rather if the fans are working the whole time @ 5000. That would protect my nerves.
    ;)

I've never heard such a behavior (never ending sinus wave) before. It sounds more like a software/firmware problem.
