Xbox fan issues (fan and console)

okay so I have a xbox one I got it (I think) in the december of the launch year and ive used it alot, and now a days the fan in the console starts to act like its overheating and kick into high gear and makes the really loud fan noise for a couple of seconds
(idk like 5 or until the game launches) whenever i open a new game.

I dont mind this, might be a problem when late at night but its fine.

The really big problem is with the power box(or brick) and it sounds like the fan is grinding on something and stopping and starting(has kinda the same timing as if youre reving a car engine around the same volume too but a grinding noise) and i know people
have been hitting it and it has worked for them but thats stopped working for me now too.

Is there anyway i can send it back and get it repaired or a new one sent out, i know the consoles not under waranty since ive had it since a couple of years before 2015(probably 2013 as 2015 just when i made my account and I had used an old one before that)

I just want to know my options.

Thank you for posting on Xbox Forums. In regards to this issue/question about the console's fan and what options you have for repairing it, if the console is under warranty you can create a repair ticket and send it in for repair. However, since this
is an Original Xbox One, if the console is no longer under warranty you will not be able to send it in as you would an Xbox One S or X if they we out of warranty and pay a fee. The Original Xbox One is no longer being serviced as Microsoft and Xbox are no
longer making the console units. If you are having issues with the console you may need to seek out a replacement unit. it is unfortunate but at this time it is one of the only options if the console is no longer under warranty.

this unfortunately does not help my issue, as i think it might be something going on with my fan or the build that messed with my PWM port for my fan. my fan no longer spins as much. i got it to run the fan for 2-3 minutes and then the fan quits. i know
the fan is good if it does spin. i am hoping that it isnt the fan as i am currently looking at aftermarket fans (i might consider on the be quiet! silentwings 3 PWM fan to install into my xbox one s as a replacement) to see if that fixes anything, and i am
thinking of getting an aftermarket stand with fans as well that way i dont wind up with any issues. im just hoping someone can at least help figure out what is going on entirely and if the Insider Alpha has damaged my fan controller that the xbox throttles,
or if the fan has officially failed after 3 or 4 years of owning it

If this doesn't happen with a disc in the console it could be a fan issue - and if that's the case you might need a repair. It could also be a power supply fan as well.

Fans go louder as the load on the console is increased, and games usually do that. The fans blow harder to cool the console down. The fan could be damaged or have a bad ball bearing.

that generally happens when your console is working under duress. Make sure there are no objects above or around the console that impede it to "breathe" or no electrical device that might cause overheating.

The fan will go all the way up to its maximum speed to solve the overheating condition. The Xbox One actually has the ability to ramp down its power usage, so that it's using next to no power when it feels it's under total thermal duress. This keeps it from
melting the plastic in its body, and also from experiencing critical overheating errors, but at the cost of performance, most likely.
