Xbox Family parent account error

For years I have been stuck with a problem with my Xbox account which is that I want to play mutiplayer on Minecraft pe, But my privacy settings say otherwise and cause is from My adult account in the family accounts page which is incorrect because it’s spelled
incorrectly so there is no way to enter the account as it’s not mine can someone help?

Gamertag missing

To make the story short:

- a did a mistake removing from family the account of my child

- I added back the account and changed email to a new one

- both accounts (child and parent) see each other as family members

Problems:

- parent privacy & security settings : cannot see my child's gamertag

- child - privacy & security settings : I get an error

- child - change gamertag: error too

- parent can log in to xbox live

- child cannot log in xbox live: error says parent account is not valid

Help to solve this mess is needed!!!

I got removed from family and can't get back in.

I wanted to not be apart of my family on xbox one anymore, and signed into my parents account to remove me from the family, and now i can't add my account back into the family from my parents account. I removed my account from my xbox and it still won't
work. I just want to have my account be it's own family and be a parent without being apart of my parents family.

Btw I request that the adult account be changed to the real one

You would have to sign into that adult Microsoft account there had to be a password setup for it at some point in time Even if it was misspelled if your not sure of the password for that account you can go to account.live.com/acsr and try and recover the
account and reset the password once you have the password reset and know the password for the parental account you can go to account.live.com/addassocid and add a different email address for signing into that account and that will correct the misspelling.

Or once you get the password for the account you can sign into the wrong account at account.microsoft.com/family and remove your account from its family then sign into the account that you want your account on as a child and add it as a child to that accounts
family.

Hi only the parent can make the changes for your account if you're in a family account and underage. That's why you're getting that error. Have the parent in charge of monitoring things make the necessary changes for you through their account in the family
settings.

You will have to log onto the parent account
add your account to the family. Once added to the family, you then change the settings on your

account through the parent account.

Hi there HEY JASE, you are correct in the fact that a child account needs parental approval before entering a family pack. As you are adding the family pack member and you are prompted to enter an email address and password, use the credentials for the parent
account instead of the child account (your son's account).

I can confirm this - I am the primary Gold on the family, but my fiancee has a teenage son and she is the parental account for him. I got the "Can't sign in" error on the Xbox console when trying to use his email and password, but if I select his profile
to add, then use my fiancee's email and password to sign in, it works perfectly. This is obviously a policy-related issue and the Xbox team should provide a more helpful error message to help solve the problem - the parent who is the Gold Family primary is
not always going to be the "parent" account for the child, especially with two techie or gamer parents, or in the case where the "parent" might not be the biological parent.

Is this other account a child account? You'll get that error if it has a parental account over it. You can check for sure by signing into the gamertag, to to settings > privacy and change settings. Doesn't matter what to, really, but you might want to look
at what is was set to first. If you attempt to change a child account's setting, it'll ask for the parental account's password.

If this pops, the account is child and needs to be removed from the parental account before you can add it to the family pack.

To separate the child and parent, you have to download the parent account, go to the family center and choose the account you are trying to add. Remove from family, and then you can log back into the primary family account and add the account you want.
