Xbox family not reflecting Microsoft Family...

So... This has been 30 days+ in the making, but after going back and forth between calling and live-chatting with Microsoft Technical Support and XBOX technical support, 'they' have recommended I "ask the community". Here goes.

I have a child who loves Minecraft -- so rare.

She has downloaded "Minecraft Windows 10 Edition" for her laptop, and wants to play it online with her friends. This is done in conjunction with XBOX live, but does not require an XBOX in order to play (it just uses their servers to host people across different
    platforms).

However, it does require certain "Privacy and Safety Settings" to be set up. This has to be set within XBOX.COM, located here:

Sign in to your Microsoft account

When on this page, you should see your Gamertag (as the parent) followed by the Gamertags of your children. You can verify who is a child on your account by reviewing your "Microsoft Family" here:

    Microsoft account | Your family

However... in my case, I do NOT see my child's Gamertag on the XBOX Settings page, even though she is properly listed and active as a child on my Microsoft Family page. It lists no children on my XBOX account, just my own Gamertag.

This results in her receiving the following messages when trying to access the multiplayer aspects of Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition ---

"You cannot add friends because of how your XBOX LIVE account is set up. This can be changed in your 'Privacy and online safety settings' on XBOX.COM"

    and

"You cannot play online multiplayer because of how your XBOX LIVE account is set up. This can be changed in your 'Privacy and online safety settings' on XBOX.COM"

We have repeatedly followed the seemingly simple instructions within both Microsoft and XBOX.COM to add my child. We have uninstalled and reinstalled the program. We have conducted live chat sessions with XBOX and Microsoft both, but what should be simple
    is just not working correctly.

We do not see our child's Gamertag listed alongside the parent on our XBOX account, and as a result can't adjust the specific settings required for her to convince XBOX to give her the access. Even when I have my own settings correctly adjusted it does not
    flow down to her account.

I want this to work properly, and as intended... My child as a child on my XBOX account, but with the proper permissions so that she can play this stupid game and leave me alone...

For moderators interested in not suggesting something I've already tried, here's a session number to review first:
    1345660439

Any new revelation and things to try will be greatly appreciated Xbox family not reflecting Microsoft Family... :) By her more than me.

    - Frustrated parent in a no-win situation

    :)

  2. Can't add a child to my xbox family

I am the parent. My account exists on both microsoft and xbox. I have a child account, which exists on both microsoft and xbox. The child account is a member of my microsoft family. The child is NOT a member of my xbox family. I cannot figure out how
to add the child account to my xbox family. I don not have an xbox console.

  3. Curfews and Time Limits - Family and Child Account Settings - XBOX One

The Microsoft Account family settings including Curfews and Time Limits should apply to XBox One consoles in addition to Windows devices. I cannot find any way to implement curfews on XBox One.

I'm going to assume you have already listed her as a child through the family page. I don't have kids or share/link my account to any else's but if I was having this same problem I would completely restore everything to step one. That would include un-linking
all accounts from each other. Changing the settings. then linking them together again. if that doesn't work, unlink them all again, Link them once more, then see if that fixes the glitch. Again, I don't use any of these things with my account but I would assume
it's just a problem with the linking system that's been setup.

how to change my age and family account

Hi there! This is Virginia O.

I understand that you want to change your age on the family account.

I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

To give you a heads up, even if there will be changes on the birthdate the system will still recognize the first birthdate that's on the account.

Let us give it a try and perform the following troubleshooting steps.

Please update your birthdate on Microsoft account by signing in here: https://account.microsoft.com

Go to Your Info > Edit Personal Info.

Change your birthdate to reflect your actual age. After that, save the changes.

And then leave the Microsoft family group. To do this, go to Microsoft Family Settings: https://account.microsoft.com/family/windows/co...

Find your account under Your Family. Click Leave Family Group, get guided that if you are of age, this option should be available.

    Thank you for your cooperation.

Minecraft disabled multiplayer and says to enable it I have to change it in my Microsoft settings. My question is, where are those settings?

I reset the setting in the Xbox family app along with re opening Minecraft but it’s still not allowing multiplayer. Will it take more time to refresh to have the system reflect the setting changes made?

Unable to change privacy and online safety information

Hi there! This is Virginia O.

I understand that you are experiencing issues customizing your Privacy and Online Safety information.

I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

Please verify your account age because even if your account is set as an adult, it is best to double-check your birthdate in your Microsoft Account settings: https://account.microsoft.com/ to make sure it reflects your correct age.

And then check family group settings. If your account is part of a Microsoft Family Group, it may still be restricted. Kindly leave the family group by visiting Microsoft Family: https://family.microsoft.com/ and selecting Leave Family Group.

Be guided that an account can only leave the family group if it is an adult account.

Next is to customize your Privacy and Security settings using a different device or browser and then go to: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=746875

    Thank you for your cooperation.
