    Hi

    I have an ongoing call with Microsoft support going on now over 2 weeks.

    Everyday I have been on webchat trying to get it resolved.

    I'm now on my 3rd support number being issued to me. I keep getting different answers from different agents. In some cases I've been told lies.

    I've been told a xbox ranger would email. I've also been told a supervisor would ring me. None of this has actually happened.

    The issue I have is that I cannot add anyone to my Xbox Family. I get the following error listed below no matter what browser or network I use.

    The Xbox gives an error of try again later. The Android app gives a similar error.

    I've explained to support staff I've an idea of what has happened. The kids accounts where all originally adult accounts and I changed one of them to a kids account but it may have been an organiser account when I done this.

    Things I've tried

    New test account cannot add any of us to it.

    Same test account and can add a test child.

    Different browsers, different pc's, different networks.

    I really need help getting this sorted. So if someone could reach out to me I'd really appreciate it.

    Sorry for the inconvenience, we could not imagine how important it is for you to add your child as member of your family to manage their online activities. Let us check on this together and sort this out. Rest assured, we will do anything in our capability to assist you with your concern.

    Upon checking this thread it seems like you have shared personal information and to ensure your privacy will be secured, we will be concealing them. We have reviewed your case numbers as there are few open cases still and it is being detailed that you have gone through all troubleshooting that could be possible in your end. We truly would like to extend helping hands here to ensure you will have the resolution.

    As part of Microsoft Office Consumer technical support, I would like to share a workaround with you. In any case, this will not be a solution then let us reach out to phone and chat support team. Workaround, as I mention because we are also calibrated to assist customers in using Microsoft Family as part of Microsoft 365 subscription.

    Workaround: To be a Microsoft 365 Family subscriber you may pay or just avail Microsoft 365 free trial (1 month). However, if you are already a subscriber let us know in your reply.

    NOTE: You have a free choice here, should you wish not to do this workaround then do not do it as this is only a suggestion. Skip this part and contact support. Please read the steps below and if you are concern or confuse or needs a thorough explanation for this. Kindly contact support.

    To begin, we would like you to prepare these:

    • Your account (should be an adult of legal age in your country)-not an organizer of Microsoft family or part of it,
    • The same with your child's account/s (not a Microsoft family member nor organizer),
    • and InPrivate or normal browser (should have clear the cache and data).
    NOTE: Do not attempt to clear cache and data to your browser without back up to all of your saved websites, accounts and bookmarks.

    1. Kindly open this - Free Trial - Try Microsoft 365 Family for a month in InPrivate or normal browser.
    2. Sign into your Microsoft account and complete the process of availing free trial.
    3. Next, kindly go to Microsoft account | Services & subscriptions and share your subscription to your child.

      Guide for sharing the subscription - Share your Microsoft 365 Family subscription.
    4. Lastly, kindly include them as part of your Microsoft Family after sharing subscription prompt. Please add them as member.
    IMPORTANT: They will receive email invitation about Microsoft Family and Microsoft 365 subscription. Kindly open them for confirmation.



    CONTACT phone and chat Support:

    1. Kindly use this website - Contact Microsoft Support. Type your Concern on the Search bar.
    2. Press enter or click Get Help.
    3. Select Contact Support or Sign in to Contact Support.
    4. Select one of the listed Products and Services.
    5. Next, select correct Category of your concern.
    6. Select Confirm.
    7. You will be provided with Support Option.

    Hey there, MichaelBrennan_505

    I have raised this thread, using our Mod tools, in this community for someone to look into. However, I am not sure if they have seen it yet. I did this this morning (I am from the UK) so my guess is that someone may see this soon, and reply.

    I will keep an eye open though, and see what else I can do, if no one responds to you tonight or tomorrow.

    Been onto webchat again today and again told its with a ranger and no update. Its nearly 3 weeks now and nothing. I'm very frustrated with the total lack of support or caring. I've tweeted xbox support as well.

    Is there anyway someone can escelate my case from here. I've been told a supervisor would ring me but this never happened. Been told a ranger would email me and this never happened.
