Xbox failed disk drive

Hi, any way to get out of update loop?

Optical drive has failed, xbox won't turn on when it is connected.

Unplugged and removed optical drive and xbox was working fine, now it's stuck in a update loop and tried everything. If i plug in the optical drive it wont turn on so that won't work, unable to find same model optical drive locally.

Is there a workaround as all the games i play is digital downloads, haven't bought a disk for 3 or 4 years now.

Really need to get this going as this is my media centre as well.

Simple answer, your hard drive is failing. Fix? Buy a new hard drive or use an external hard drive. The Xbox 360 supports external hard drives up to 2 TB.

Hard drives die and before they do, they generally exhibit, disk read errors, corrupted files none working games. Hard disk drives are mechanical with moving parts, its it not if they fail its a matter of when.

You would have had to send it in to Microsoft to be repaired, bit as you've opened it, they will no longer repair it. We cannot assist with self-repair as it violates the terms of service.

Hi, I have tried all of these solutions and it has not remedied the issue. I think it is most likely the disk that is at fault. However, I am not sure as I had a hard drive that had the game on it and the disk was working flawlessly then, that hard drive failed and I got a new hard drive recently and tried to install the game and it failed to install as I described earlier.
