Xbox Ethernet not working

My ethernet port is not working. The cable works just fine when plugged into other devices but yesterday it just stopped working with my Xbox. I tried rebooting the Xbox but that didn't work. Every once in a while it pops up on the
network page saying nat type getting info, and if I unplug and replug it in then it says wired for a couple of seconds and then just stops, it also does that occasionally when left alone.

Ethernet not working

Hi, I recently bought a Xbox360 and can't connect to Live with ethernet (I dont have the wireless adaptator) and cannot acces to advanced parameters in the system menu to manage connection, ports, IP etc. I updated the system via usb key but nothing changed.

How can I access these advanced parameters ?

And is there a way to connect via usb cable ?

Ethernet port not working

I am in warranty as I bought it over the summer, but I think getting it 17 days later would kind of take a long time as I am gamer. I'll be purchasing a wireless adapter! Thanks for all your guys support appreciate it! Have a nice day all of you!

It sounds like the port could be the problem, but have you tried other Ethernet Cables or ports on the Modem/Router just to double check?

try to swap the ends of your ethernet connections. this sometimes works for me. it sounds pointless but really can make a difference! what i mean is take the end of your ethernet out of your xbox and the ethernet out of your router as well. then place the
end of the ethernet that was in your xbox in your router . and your ethernet side in your router in your xbox!

I am having the same issue. It has always worked until about a week ago and I cant figure out the issue either. It is not a port because I got a brand new Xbox One today and having the same issues. Switched out 3 different ethernet cables and same result.
Not sure what changed but it doesn't work through ethernet anymore. I have used it this way for many years now so it's kind of strange...

I presume the other end of the cable is plugged into a router? You're not just expecting the xbox to recognise that a cable with no signal has been plugged in?

You will need to check that the ethernet cables you are using are CAT5 or CAT6 as the older cables might not pick up on the xbox.
