    i have added an external hard disk ot xbox one and it works well, it is connected trough usb port. the only issue is that it is always working even if the console is shout down. There is a way to shout down completely the usb port ans the hard disk also?

    Hi go into settings>power & startup>power mode & startup and check the box marked "when Xbox is off, turn off external storage"

    The external drive may still appear to stay on every now and then as there maybe a game or app download running in the background. Just thought I would point that out.
