Xbox Enforcement Team - Actively working to make Xbox live a worse place

Last week I was playing some Smite and ended up on a trash team. We all did poorly, lost the game, and I ended up going 3/6- not disastrous, but about what you'd expect for the circumstances. It happens, no big deal. I wasn't about to start crying over it.

But one of my allies was. I get a message from this guy quoting my score at me in bad English, laughing at me, and calling me trash. I normally just block these ****, and unfortunately, you can't spend any length of time on xbox live without having to endure
this. But as all the times I've report this sort of behavior have been ignored (I know this because the enforcement team sends messages to you for filing "valid complaints" upon which they end up taking action, a message I have never received,) I decided this
time to just call him an idiot, block him and move on. Of course he gets butt hurt that he can't harass me anymore and reports me. Yes, HE reports ME. And of course, the enforcement team responds by blocking me from all forms of communication for a week. Not
just the text portion mind you, which I hate anyway because it's good for absolutely nothing past allowing morons like this guy to send hate mail to other players, no they block me from voice chat too (which had nothing to do with the committed "offense"),
rendering the entire party function completely useless. I contest, the cowards uphold from behind their wall of anonymity from the comfort of their accountability free climate controlled command center with no customer service line, email, or forum by which,
(God forbid) someone could attempt to represent themselves.

People like this guy who go about harassing other players are the problem, not gamers like myself. I am one of the good ones. I wish teammates a good game. I keep my rage to myself when allies disappoint. I have never initiated harassment of any kind, and
I rarely even respond to it. If the enforcement team served their intended purpose, I would never receive harassing messages (which I do- all the time, and report- all the time, to no effect) and therefore would have nothing to respond to. What I did is not
the problem. It's a symptom of the problem. But the enforcement team re-enforces the problem by backing the initiators of harassment, telling this guy, "You did the right thing for coming to us. We'll take care of this mean bully for you. Thanks for making
xbox a better place." Only they didn't. And I know I'm not the only one this has happened to.

I have been with xbox since the launch of the original system. I have purchased xbox ones for my brother, sister, and a friend so we could all play on xbox live together and I frequently buy them gift cards to pay for their games. I have been a major supporter
for well over a decade. But I will not continue to fund a system that allows me to be routinely victimized, ignores my calls for help, and further punishes me for the one time I snap back. Fortunately, I don't have to. Xbox offers nothing Sony cant. And from
here on out, they'll be getting my dime on behalf of myself and my family and friends.

    Good game xbox. Good game.

    :)

Well done rZ Dreams! Now that you've filed a report, the Enforcement Team will investigate. Thanks for helping to make Xbox Live a better place for all of us. =)

That was a 100% certified great riposte to the powers that be, and if you were looking for sympathy you might have got it. That is, until you trailed off with a threat to go dark. We have a tradition around these parts and it's handed out by Curly Bill.

It's very rare you get the thank you message from the enforcement team if action is taken due to a report you've filed.

The majority of the time you are not told if someone receives enforcement action due to one of your reports.

You don't know whether these people get suspended or not.

The rules are the same on PSN but if you want to buy a PlayStation then go for it.No one here cares.

Except in this case, you responded to the person. What do you expect to happen?

You already know the best thing to do, block and report.

By the way, your right about Sony doing the same things as Microsoft, even as far as banning people who abuse other players, have fun on the PS4.

  7. OP, every form of online communications has Instigators (spelling) some of which can never be banned. They can even do god mode random matches and even if you quit out.. You still get banned, but they don't.

So whether on xbox, playstation, steam or whatever, as best you can. Watch yourself!

Enforcement may expect more from older members than the do for younger members due to them exercising judgmental discretion. Recognizing that a younger person will not have the same maturity level or expectations as a person 5-40 years older than them. Yet
when someone 5-40 years older than them says ONE word of any form or harassment/answering back, they are much quicker to judge that older person. That's what the people WANT you to do. They want you to break Xbox rules. They retaliate. You retaliate. That
makes you just as bad as them. A best way is to choose your words more carefully, block, mute, report, and ignore. Granted It's not easy. Try to avoid games or lobbies which attract those kinds of people.

People have this thing called "free will". And there's only so much governments and companies (Microsoft etc) can do to mold behavior. Plus there's a diverse age group of Xbox players, from one year olds playing Minecraft to 70 year olds who play poker.
And the wide range of backgrounds. You aren't going to get along with everyone or expect everyone to act exactly like you.
