XBox Elite Series 2 Simultaneous Left/Right DPad Input Registers Diagonal Left-Down Input

I also just bought the 1tb MCC bundle with the new controller, however I also am having problems with pressing down on the dpad. The controller registers a down input when I perform half circle motions and when I firmly press down on the dpad. However light
taps rarely register an input.

I'm sorry to hear you've been experiencing some issues with your controller.

Have you already tried power cycling your controller? you can do this by pressing and holding its Xbox button until it shuts down. I'd also suggest removing its USB cable for a minute or two (if plugged in). This is the closest there is to a hard reset

I'd also suggest going into the controller's 'test mode' to see if it may be registering input from a different button/paddle. To do this, please go to Settings > Devices & connections > Accessories > look for your controller and select the lab icon underneath it.

If that doesn't work, please answer the following questions so I have a better understanding of your situation.

- May I ask which Xbox model you are using?
- Do you have any external devices plugged into your console's USB ports?
- Is this happening regardless of the game you play?
- Have you already tried using a different controller with your console?
- Have you already tried updating your console's OS?

Yes, you can use the diagonal angles on the d-pad in between the basic up, down, left and right to give you 8 inputs. I find it a bit hard to use that way though so I almost never do this in games. I only use the d-pad for the 4 basic directions. Going
in the diagonal positions is so much easier with one of the joysticks, if you can do it that way.

I was thinking that the left analogue stick would be better if it did *not* move up or down. Left and right only like steering wheels.

I can't be sure but I think catching the diagonals when steering at high speeds on corners is slightly worse than moving perfectly left or right.

Obviously the computer code will have to filter the unwanted up and down inputs or react to them somehow. Ideally they shouldn't be there.

Hopefully someone makes this dedicated racing controller to make racing better without having to spend big on steering wheel and pedals.

1. Lean by a corner of the Homestead and whistle. A turkey should spawn.

3. If you do it right, you should feed the turkey and it will have a hood.
