Xbox Elite Series 2 keeps disconnecting

Ive had the baseline controllers for years and keep holding back from pulling the trigger (get it?) for an elite controller. When the series 2 came out, I was ready to go get one, but the fervor died off with reports of disconnecting.

Right now I’m still waiting to get an elite. I plan on it sometime this year, maybe with the Series X

Can you double check if both controllers are using the latest firmware?
For this, please open the Accessories app in your PC and connect the controllers via cable.

By the way, did you tried to connect the controllers to a different device? (Like another PC, Xbox or phone) this helps to isolate the problem a bit more

In the meantime try this:
Reinstall your controller driver:
Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager > search something like Xbox controller category (or similar) > expand the category using the little arrow (">") > select delete/uninstall driver

Click OK, restart your PC and reconnect the controller.

If the issue persists, reinstall/update the Plug and Play Software Device Enumerator driver.

You can do it following previous steps, but now select Plug and Play Software Device Enumerator.

Can take a while, would be great to wait up to 15 minutes before trying again

Appreciate the info. I'm leaning more toward the cable itself then. I've been using my original cable from my Elite 1 as well and it's stopped working recently too. I think it may be due to age.

Try a different cable if you're able to and see if it helps.
