XBOX Elite Series 2 Faulty Warranty Replacement

Having sent my Elite Series 2 in for a warrantied RB issue (not responding/ intermittent) I happily recieved a replacement today.

Immediately noticed a rattling so I plugged it in and ran some diagnostics on the console. Found that the left main vibration is weak and feels dislocated.

Needless to say I'm pretty miffed. I shouldn't expect to have performance issues like these from a freshly replaced controller (especially with a premium price tag).

Is there any way to file a grievance with Microsoft beyond the customer support line?

Warranties cover a like for like replacement if required under that warranty so as far as I know, yes, if you send an Elite series 2 in for replacement you will receive an Elite series 2 back.

Unfortunately, your warranty period expired in February. For Elite Controllers, it's 12 months in the UK and 90 days in the US (unless purchased in an Elite bundle, which is 12 months). If you attempted the RMA process prior to the warranty expiring, customer
support might make an exception.

Personally, I would keep contacting support regardless of the warranty period expiring, as Microsoft knows these controllers are defective. In the US, there was an unofficial program offering a one-time free replacement to Series 1 owners.

For anyone else reading this response in the future:

Never buy Xbox Elite Controllers, including Series 2. They are overpriced and faulty.

The Elite Series 2 controller has a 1 year warranty.

enter the controller’s serial number at the bottom of that page. For the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, the 14-character serial number is in the lower centre on the back of the controller.

Microsoft knew the controllers were defective and still sold them as a good product. they wont do anything to fix your controller because its most like out of warranty thats why the warranty was so short. The whole elite series 2 was a scam
