    First off, is there no form to email Xbox Support? Seems like my only option was to chat with a virtual assistant that was no more helpful than Google.

    In an attempt to find a way to contact Microsoft about my issues I did find that I could register my Elite Series 2 controller to check its warranty status. I received the controller as a gift for Christmas 2019 (the controller was purchased in December
    2019). When I registered it I was only asked for the serial number, no proof of purchase or anything like that. Once I entered the SN it shows that the warranty is only valid till 5/5/20. How do I correct the warranty to be 1 year from the date of purchase?

    Finally on to the real issue. I am a very casual gamer, with work and family I only get an hour or two a night for 2-4 nights a week to play. I asked for the Elite Series 2 controller because it seemed like a very solid controller. But usually 2-3 times
    a gaming session the controller will completely cut out for 3-4 seconds. It never loses power, just disconnects and immediately reconnects. As a FPS player this has gotten my character eliminated more than once. I also game with a pair of headphones plugged
    into the 3.5mm jack and usually a sign that its going to cut out is when the audio starts to stutter.

    My Xbox One X is less than 10ft away with clear line of sight on a shelf all to itself in my entertainment set it also gets direct and active cooling. Some basic steps I have tried:

    Restart Xbox One X (by pressing an holding the Xbox Button on the console)

    Power cycling the controller

    Making sure the controller is charged (batteries in the Elite Series 2 are NOT user replaceable)

    Turning off Bluetooth on my cellphone (did this as a test, but controller still dropped out)

    Updated controller's firmware

    Sat closer to Xbox (though I should be able to game without issue at 10-20 ft anyways)

    While my son sleeps I will usually watch TV/Movie/Youtube on the Xbox with my stereo receiver off and just listen via the headphones connected to the controller. I have NEVER had the controller disconnect or have any audio stuttering. It only seems to happen
    when I play CoD Modern Warfare (which is the only game I play at the moment, so it could be games in general, or maybe just CoD). Apps I use to watch content are OneGuide, Plex and Youtube. I can be watching a TV show for an hour without issue and immediately
    switch to CoD and I can notice some audio stuttering.

    This issue has been happening since the day I received the controller but I was just hoping it was a software issue that would get fixed. I switched from an Xbox One controller with BT/Headphone jack. I never had a controller drop out on me (unless the batteries
    died). Why does this wildly more expensive controller work so much worse than the basic one I was using before?!

    Did you buy a warranty? I have an elite series 2 and it had the standard 90 day warranty. Perhaps its a visual big on the website.

    It definitely sounds like the radio has a problem. I believe you can set up a repair without chatting with support. You can talk to them during business hours using the same process as the automated service.

    Unfortunately all controllers have a 90 day warranty. So the website is correct.
    What I dont understand is that I can watch TV or a Movie without an issue, but as soon as I fire up a game it acts up.

    Also according to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/devices it says that the controller has a 1 year warranty.

    At least here in EUROPE you have 1 year of warranty and 90 days for fast exchange.

    It definitely sounds like the radio has a problem. I believe you can set up a repair without chatting with support. You can talk to them during business hours using the same process as the automated service.

    Warranties cover a like for like replacement if required under that warranty so as far as I know, yes, if you send an Elite series 2 in for replacement you will receive an Elite series 2 back.
