    Like the title says, i believe that my new Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller has some firmware issues that lead to disconnects.

    I'm using the latest Windows 11 and the controllers firmware is up to date. I've tried bluetooth and via the xbox wifi stick.

    Disabling power saving functions in the hardware manager doesn't help either. I've tried every troubleshooting, no matter the constellation, the bugs are always the same.

    The issues result in disconnects that last up to 5-10 seconds, which is really annoying.

    When using the audio out port of the controller it's clear, that there are constant small connections issues which lead to choppy audio, which eventually lead to a full crash and said 5-10s disconnects. Using rumble seemingly makes it worse.

    I know that i'm not the only one because i've seen many topics like these with the same problems which all seem to indicate that it's in fact a firmware issue with the elite series 2. Which is a shame because i don't need to tell anybody how expensive that controller is.

    Can confirm this is a widely reported issue with both the V1 and V2 Elite controller. The controller seems to get overloaded by input, rumble being the worst offender by far.

    Updating firmware on the controller does not help and trying to remove and re-add the controller also does not help. Using wired instead of Bluetooth also does not help. Using a dongle instead of mobo Bluetooth also does not help.

    If you try to be smart and turn off the rumble in Xbox app, it helps reduce the disconnects but can still be overloaded by multiple inputs in quick succession.

    Works fine on Xbone so I gave it to my nephew. Would avoid for PC use, at the time I gave it away, the latest firmware was a year old. Or get it at best buy so you can return it nice and easy 😁

    Edit: Looks like I tried April 2021 and would've been Windows 10. Maybe when the white elite controller comes out it will work 🤔

    I just got the white elite series 2 and it has the same issue. it keeps getting discounected on PC.. I can not play Rocket League at all using this controller even with a cable... paid top dollar for this controller 150 dollars to only get disappointend.. Microsoft you should do better to test your hardware and bluetooth before shipping products to end users.. this is sad.. :(((

    Did the issue start when you updated the controller firmware?

    Have you tried to reinstall the controller driver to see how it goes?

    If this is really a firmware issue, I would suggest you to report it to the Xbox team:

    I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing disconnection issues with your Elite Series 2 controller on your Xbox Series X.

    First make sure the Elite Series 2 controller battery is fully charged. A low battery can cause intermittent disconnections. It is always advisable to use fully charged batteries or keep the controller connected via a USB cable.

    Check to see if firmware updates are available for your Elite Series 2 controller. You can do this through the Xbox Accessories app on your Xbox Series X console. Keeping firmware up-to-date can fix connectivity and stability issues.

    If you are using the controller wirelessly, make sure there is no nearby interference that could affect the signal. Move other wireless devices such as routers, cell phones, or other Bluetooth devices away from your Xbox and the controller. You can also try changing a wired connection using a USB cable to rule out wireless connectivity issues.

    If you have access to another controller, try connecting it to your Xbox Series X and playing for a while to see if you experience the same disconnection issues. This will help you determine if the issue is specifically related to the Elite Series 2 controller or if it is broader.

    Reset the controller settings You can try resetting the Elite Series 2 controller to factory settings.
