Xbox Elite Series 2 - Defective Battery?

So I got the new Elite controller the day it came out, and I have had some serious disconnection problems the last week or so. Now the controller won't turn on, won't charge, won't do anything! This is extremely frustrating that a 6 month old controller
would just die for no reason. It won't even work when plugged in to my Xbox or computer. Anyone have any ideas for fixing this?

Hey there, usually when things like this happen they're replaceable under warranty. Unless you bought the extended warranty, the manufacturer's warranty may be invalid as of right now... since your purchase was a few months ago. However, this issue may be
a manufacturing defect so you may still be able to receive a replacement under warranty to some degree.

I would start by trying to contact a Microsoft Store Support representative. You may be able to do that here:

My Elite version 2 controller has never disconnected but the internal battery will NOT charge. It is a brick unless it is plugged in with the USB wire or sitting on the charging dock. when plugged in or on charging dock the white LED light blinks but never
goes to a solid light even after 10 hours sitting on the charge dock. I've never seen the LED light go to color "amber" to signify it has a low battery. 180$ for a wired controller less than 8 months old.

I contacted support they told me it would bee 100$ to REPAIR!! because my 90 day warranty was up lol. 90 days for a controller they say "should last a lifetime".....

oh and option #2 they sent me a link to buy an Xbox "play and charge kit" ...lol for an Elite Series 2. The Elite Series 2 that has an INTERNAL BATTERY!

I am beyond pissed off and I get everyone's frustrations on this thread. This is all after going through 4 series 1 elite controllers.

To me it's absolutely UNACCEPTABLE that Microsoft wont at the least repair these controllers that are defective. Not broken but defective. And I mean repair for free or shipping charge ONLY.

My elite series 2 rb button doesnt work and i cant find a replacement button how do i fix this

Microsoft knew the controllers were defective and still sold them as a good product. they wont do anything to fix your controller because its most like out of warranty thats why the warranty was so short. The whole elite series 2 was a scam

My controller doesn't take batteries it's the elite series 2 it has a built in rechargeable battery pack

I can't remove the batteries from an elite series 2 controller? Would I still be able to do this procedure?
