Xbox Elite Series 2 controller won’t turn on

I was using the controller and it just shut off. Plugging in the controller did not allow it to turn back on. I got the controller recently, not sure if this means the battery isn’t charging or if there is something else at play. Any help would be appreciated.

Turns out, the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller needed to be replaced.

Kindly try to plug in the controller on a different USB port but if the controller isn't turning on even after plugging in the controller it may mean that the controller needs to be repaired.
