Xbox elite series 2 controller cable not working.

It's having intermittent connectivity depending on how I position the cable. I believe it is the cable because this happened before and I replaced the cable. I generally play with the cable attached. I am on PC and my computer is right there so I don't really have any need for it to be wireless. The first one that malfunctioned seems like the outer jacket was woven on so stiff that it actually started kinking the wires on the cable end that terminates into the controller. I would try to gently wiggle it straight as it seemed like it was under great stress. The second one came with a very stiff woven jacket as well. I tried my best to keep the cable free from bends, but over time it started to put stress on the wires in the same place. I would gently try and relieve any tension and straighten it out. It would work but only for a short while and soon completely stopped. This now is the third cable I'm on and after the first two, you can be sure that I was very aware of the cable and its potential to bind. Today it has stopped working again. Does anybody else have these issues? I know most people probably use it wirelessly so their cable probably is stationary. I think my problem arises from the fact that the cable does see consistent movement while being held. I sit at my computer desk with my controller in my hands with plenty of slack. I'm not a kid who doesn't know how to take care of their electronics. The left and right bumper buttons on the series 2 are of inferior quality to the ones used in the first series. I purchased new bumper switches on Amazon. I disassembled my controller and desoldered the malfunctioning switches and then soldered in the replacements. The new switches work great and give me no problems. The cable I couldn't find a fix for, other than buying a new one.
