Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller Bug/Software Broken?

Hi there,

I've been having a problem with my Xbox Elite Series 2 controller for days.

I'll keep it "short":

I was playing a game and every time I stopped for about 15 seconds, the character's camera suddenly moved up. At first I thought it might be a thumbstick drift and the stick was broken now.

So I went into the Xbox Accessories app (Windows 10) and found that the profiles I had created were messed up and a new profile called "Profile 1" was suddenly selected, this (profile not created by me) had no buttons assigned at all (this is actually not possible). Also, the name of the controller above has changed.





I turned off the controller and restarted the app. Suddenly everything was back to normal (see image 2, the profiles weren't set to standard before, I reset them all and only took a picture afterwards, I'll get to that in a moment).





So I went to some profile and checked to see if the right thumbstick was ok and yes the stick was perfectly centered and kept coming back to its original position as it should, so no hardware stick drift?!





Sooo Long Story Short…



I found the following: The controller works or the Thumpstick is actually hardware-wise fine, but if the controller is not used for about 15 seconds, it goes into a buggy mode, which causes the Xbox Accessories app to create a new profile, changing the name and letting the stick drift down. If I touch the stick minimally (it is enough to blow against it strongly), the stick falls back (i.e. software) to its original position and then stays there for a while. (As in the picture above)





Now when I launch the Xbox Accessories app again everything is back to normal! But if I wait a few seconds again and open the app again, it's bugged again.



So that would be my problem, which I've been trying to solve for 5 hours. I've been to a number of forums and don't know what to do next.



I have already tried the following:



Reinstalled the controller driver. Xbox Wireless Stick reinstalled (so the controller is connected). All Xbox apps reinstalled. Connect the controller via USB and downgrade and upgrade the firmware once (a downgrade is possible via command code). My controller profiles deleted (that's why there aren't any more on the picture). Made several restarts and tested the connection via wireless and USB.



Maybe a little more information:



Pretty fresh Windows 10 installed, so hardly any "garbage" apps on it. No controller emulators installed. I don't use the Steam controller settings and Steam was always off during my tests (except for the game I was playing). Warranty expired in January.



I hope I was able to describe my problem in an understandable way and maybe someone knows more!
