The analogue sticks on my controller flick to the opposite directions. Mainly the right one.

So if I aim to the right and recenter my analogue stick it pulls far to the left. I have tested it on the accessories app and if I click it to any side it pulls back and flicks to the opposite. (I hope this makes sense).

Obviously increasing the dead zone stops this but it’s that extreme that it makes playing fps games impossible if I do that.

Is there a way to fix this? I can’t afford to buy a new one and I’d prefer not to send it away to be replaced or fixed by someone else because I feel like most elite series 2 have these issues.

    :)

    Hello!

My name is Dérek, I'm an independent platform consultant and I'm grateful for the opportunity to help you.

Joshua, I'm sorry about your situation.

From your report, it's not a software bug. It would be an internal error, perhaps on the control board.

A repair would be the only option. I advise you to think about this idea, because really, if it's getting impossible to play an FPS game, it's worth using Microsoft repair for that.

If you want, let me know, and I'll send the process to verify the repair in your region.

This is a constant issue. I’ve owned half a dozen elites, had many of those replaced for bumper or stock drift issues, and the snap-back direction reverse has been an issue in every single one. This is a design issue and not repairable. The elite controllers are great for so many reasons, but there are a few clear issues that if MS corrected or spent a fraction more money on, (like higher quality thumb sticks or better plastic or even metal parts in bumpers, etc. The controller would be most deserving of the “elite” moniker.

Mapping Thumbsticks on Elite Controller 2

    Thanks Viper.

That seems totally strange to me. It can't be an analogue digital hing as it allows you to map, say, the right trigger, to a button.

I really really hope they add that soon!

I appreciate your reply. Happy New Year.
Well you can't re-map the triggers on the Standard or Elite Series 1 controller, but you can with the Elite Series 2. It does seem like an analog/digital thing. I hope its not to hard to add the stick direction re-mapping function to the Series 2.

I will send feedback to Microsoft about this.

    Happy New Year to you.

    Elite Controller

I've finally got something to complain about with my Elite controller. The left stick is way too springy, so when you hold it down in any direction fully and let go, it'll bounce back the other way and record the opposite input 4/10 times. It makes menu
navigation a real pain, so I've had to adjust how I use the controller and never let my thumb off the analogue stick.

Other than that, it's still a fantastic controller and I'm glad I bought it.

Core 2 stick tension vs Standard Series X controller tension

    Hello ShivaPike,

Welcome to the Xbox Community Forum! Thank you for sharing your concern with me today, I hope you're doing well. I understand that you have a question regarding the stick tension on the standard Series X controller and how it compares to the Elite Series 2 controller.

The standard Series X controller has a default stick tension that is not adjustable. However, the Elite Series 2 controller has adjustable stick tension with three different settings as you mentioned in your question. With the Elite Series 2 controller, you can increase or decrease the stick resistance according to your preference.

I understand that increased stick resistance may be helpful for you due to your neurological condition. I recommend trying out the Elite Series 2 controller in-store or with a friend who owns one to see if the highest resistance setting is suitable for you before making the investment.

Here is a link to the official Xbox support page that provides more information on adjusting the stick tension on the Elite Series 2 controller is the same link you provided: Adjust the sticks on your Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 | Xbox Support

You may check try to check if customization of the controller could be your preference: Xbox Adaptive Controller | Xbox

I hope this information helps! Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Sincerely,
