    I have the exact same issues as mentioned in this thread https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us.../4fd9ec74-e7a5-4e0b-8667-30b805fdbd03?auth=1p meaning unresponsive ABXY buttons on my Elite Series 2 controller.

    Contrary to the above thread, I already got a replacement twice and my third has the same issues again.

    After 2 years and an insane amount of mentions of the same problem all across the internet, I think it would be more than fair the receive a proper response on how Microsoft is handling this issue and what we can expect in the near future.

    I absolutely love everything else about the controller, especially the newly added option to adjust thumbstick tension. But in its current state I just make forced mistakes in games like Halo Infinite and Rocket Leage, something that should not be allowed to happen because of a controller with the starting price of €250 that is marketed as a pro controller.

    Please Microsoft, let us know when or how this will be fixed or when a version 3 will arrive without this issue.

    Thanks for the reply. We're sorry for the inconvenience that has caused you, we know that you have stated that this issue is all about the hardware itself.

    For hardware issues it would be best to do troubleshooting to check if this can be fixed with updates or tweak the settings however, sending back for repair still a great option if it won't be fixed by the suggestions above.

    Some customer had fix the issue by power cycle the controller and returning to the default button mapping in the Devices & Accessories app or the restore to default option.

    • Power cycle your controller:
      • Press and hold the Xbox button for 5-10 seconds, until the controller turns off.
      • Wait a few seconds, then press and hold the Xbox button again to turn the controller back on.
    There could be possibility that an update will be released and fix the issue but to make sure it is the right fix please reach out to the right people. I apologize if the first reply has forwarded a link to a guide related to issues with games and apps - added as I had double checked it, only the link for contacting the Team Xbox, the experts were linked - Provide feedback to Team Xbox | Xbox Support and post a new question - Ask a question. Have you perhaps created a new post with the same concern or does the link provided take you to different support article? Please let us know.

    I'm happy to pick up this conversation with a better department, but if I understand it correctly you forwarded a link to a guide related to issues with games and apps. My problems aren't software related, but hardware/xbox accessories related.

    On top of that, I think my question should receive a public answer for people like me who need the same information.

    We love how you suggested a similar feature with Xbox 360 we highly recommend you to share it with Team Xbox also. Sending feedback through Feedback Hub app allows you to check upvotes from customers having same issue. However, it is still best to send feedback directly to Team Xbox using Xbox Insiders (reddit.com) and/or Xbox Report Problem app. As what you have mentioned yes and surely, this thread is set to public so any future readers that will find this can post a comment too.

    As for your request to have someone from the Team Xbox to interact in this thread. I will not guarantee that they will reply in here as they are actually working on different timeline so if they can, then they will.     First of all, I didn't create a new post, everything is here. As mentioned, the link you shared is not relevant for hardware issues. Furthermore, the feedback hub says "The Feedback Hub app lets you tell Microsoft about any problems you run into while using Windows 10.", which doesn't sound very relevant as well.

    I don't need interaction with others per se, I just want others to be able to read the progress of this topic so those with similar questions have their answers as well.

    To respond to your suggestions. I tried all my controllers straight out of the box, before and after updates, before and after power cycles. I'm also convinced a software update won't solve anything, as it clearly seems to be a hardware issue related to the connection/registration of the outside button to the internal button inside the controller.

    What the customer deserves is something similar to the xbox 360 red ring of death treatment. Meaning, a hardware fix of both the shipped and future Elite 2 products and free replacement/repair with this fix issued. Such a premium product should receive a proper solution. I don't want a refund simply because I like everything else about the controller and it offers certain functionalities that alternatives don't, I would just love to receive a working Elite 2.

    If you may not be the right person to help me and other with this issues, feel free to include someone else into the conversation or send me in a proper direction to address this issues where others can follow the progress as well.

    Don't bother wasting your time power cycling the controller or resetting the button layout, the button design is just bad and it doesn't work, I had 8 controllers that confirmed it straight out of the box and if Kathy would try it out for herself she would realise the same and not make this kind of useless suggestions.

    Don't bother sending it for repair as they will just send you another broken one (i tried twice with MS support wasting gas and time and 5 other times by just exchanging them back at the shop, again wasting time and gas).

    Until they actually realise the design is bad and they need to change their production methods there is 0 chance to get a working one without voiding your warranty and fixing it yourself (cfr YouTube videos of people fixing it).

    Do yourself a favor and get a refund while you still can.
