Xbox Elite Series 2 - 1 year Warranty in EU

Greetings,

I bought a new Xbox Elite Series 2 controller last week and just finished registering the device in my Microsoft account.

The warranty lasts until March 2025.

I live in the EU, but bought the controller from Amazon UK. Nonetheless, I believe that according to the EU legislation, I should be getting a 2 year minimum warranty period, since the item was sold to a EU country.

Has anyone had this issue before and if so, how can I request this period to be extended?

I've tried looking in the device info, in the Microsoft support site, the 'Contact Us' section etc, but they all seems to end up suggesting I ask the community.

I bought Xbox Wireless Elite Series 2 Controller, Here in EU (Greece) all controllers have 1 year warranty and the Series X/S consoles 2 years.

Hi Mark. My name is Kyle and I'm an independent advisor.

The warranty on your controller is only valid in the country or region where it was purchased. If you bought it from Amazon UK, you only get warranty in the UK, and it will be a 1 year warranty as the UK is not part of the EU.

The best option would be to return the controller to Amazon UK and purchase it from a store in your own country.

The standard warranty for the Xbox One Elite Series 2 controller is 1 year, or can be longer depending on region(2 yrs. in EU for example).
