XBox Elite opens Gamebar on A press

Any updates on this? I just got an Elite 2 and am having the same issue. I don't own an xbox so I can't just connect it to an xbox to get that update.

Microsoft finally released an update through the Xbox Accessories app on the PC in the last couple weeks. Firmware Version 4.8.1908.0 fixes the issue.

I have the same issue, and I don't have an option to update the controller firmware on my pc. Looks like some people are able to fix this issue by updating their controller firmware with an xbox, but as I don't have an xbox this is not an option for me.

I hade the same issue. THE Windows program did not promt for an update. Plugged the controller in to an Xbox and updated it. After that it works no problem. Seems like the Windows program is not Up to date.

We understand that you having issues with Xbox Elite Controller that when A button is pressed it will launch Xbox Game Bar. To be honest, there is also a thread I replied that has the same issue with you. So basically, this will trigger if the Controller is connected to PC via Bluetooth but this will not be an issue for any wired ones. I just provided basic troubleshooting that can help check if that would resolve the issue. Also, we have discovered a possible resolution however, it is not the fix because the Xbox icon should be the one that will launch the Game Bar by default. So, I'll provide you the same basic troubleshooting and will report this internally to have this investigated.

We will be asking some questions and provide you troubleshooting. Please provide details/information for us to gather more data.

1. Is your Windows 10 up-to-date? Kindly use this link as guide: How to get software and driver updates for Windows 10.
   
2. Kindly check if the Controller was customized, please use this guide: Customize your Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series.

Try plugging it in to an xbox worked for me. Couldent find a fix or firmware update on pc. Tried all the tips and tricks. Plugged it in to an xbox got an update and now it works great on pc.
