Xbox Elite controllers are faulty.

The elite controllers have to many problems and should be completely recalled. I bought an elite controller in March and had it for about 3 months when it started have all kinds of problems, such as sticky buttons paddles not working and heavy analog drift.
Luckily it was still under warranty and I got it replaced by the store I bought it from. Now I'm on my second elite and after 4 months its shot. It has bad analog drift, one paddle doesn't work, the side grips have fallen off and the left bumper actually broke
off. My friend who has had his elite for about the same time has also had these problems and his bumper also broke off.

Now the problem is the warranty is up so I'm out of luck there, so I checked xbox's repair plans and it turns out there are none. There are no ways to have xbox repair your elite controller, they have repair plans for the kinect but not the new elite controller
that cost more.These controllers were advertised as durable and long lasting but they break within no time. My normal controller lasted A YEAR AND A HALF!!!!! Now I'm stuck with a 150$ paper weight.

This product is unacceptable.

Has anyone else had any problems with the elite?

Controllers

I had 4 controllers that have had this issue ($240!!!). Even saw ppl with the $150 Elite controllers have this because a cheap thin plastic piece. Xbox wont do anything said they weren't even aware of the issue. Said that their 2nd gen controllers are out
now, probably just as faulty.

 

Why Xbox One controllers break so easily

Xbox 360 controllers are more durable. Xbox 1 controllers are much lighter and sleeker. Xbox 1 Elite is overpriced.

 

I feel you man I wish this could be fixed, or even if we could be compensated for this. My first one had drifting right thumpstick and a stuck left one got it replaced and now the second one got a loose thumstick. First one lasted 6 months second one less
than a month. I have always trusted Microsoft so I hope they do their best to fix this issue.

 

Agreed my bumper broke off after 6 months. I was very careful because the controller was very expensive. What a joke for the "elite" controller. Microsoft refuses to help and I just loose 150 dollars.

 

I'm so disappointed in the elite controller. for a $150 "accessory" to only get 90 a day warranty is absurd... and whats more absurd is the shear lack of quality internals that Microsoft pass off as "elite". I thought I was buying the sports car version
of the xbox one controller... turns out it is more like a Ford Pinto.

 

I have just had the Elite Gears of War 4 Elite controller and had 6 replacements from the Game UK store. This one now has an intermittent working A button?!

 

i'm in the same boat. I replaced my first elite after a month, because the left analog failed, and now i'm 5 months into having it and the paddle stops working. & i'm ****

 

I'm right along with you man. My left bumper is holding on by a thread it's so cracked, I've been searching the Internet trying to find maybe a 3Rd party company to repair them. it's funny how both my original controllers are still just fine. Let me know
if you guys know anyone who does it.

 

I had stick drift pretty early. Was able to fix it myself for awhile. Then the rubber grips began to fall off. Had to use super glue to stick them on, unfortunately that means I can no longer open it up to fix the drift.

9 months of use, taking great care to baby it, and it's useless. Not happy.

 

Im on my 4th elite now and the right bumper just broke off after only two months. This is not okay Microsoft.

 

My problem was the grip 2 times always but it in the case for it. Now i hold it tottaly diffrent in my hands in fear that it happens again. Its still the best controller i ever hold in my hands but serious i never buy it again. Wish it has no grip.

 

Exactly the same issues... Totally agree that the product appears flawed and the warranty process is without doubt flawed. MS do not seem to want to reply to th issues either. I wonder if a magazine could take the issue up?

 

same. left bumper started feeling squishy and getting harder to push it and get a proper click. next day it starts falling off. most of the plastic has severed. 6 ish months of on and off use . very gentle with my gear. c,mon. for $150 cant we have aluminum
connectors. they already tried to make the plastic bumpers and triggers look metal. the paddles are magnesium right? can we have that? obviously the plastic bits are not strong enough. luckily no drifting with stick on my elite but have had that on normal
controllers.
