Xbox Elite Controller Warranty Terms

My Xbox Elite Controller 2 right bumper stopped working. I opened my controller and removed the plastic "U" part that comes there in order to see if it works better without it and lost it. My controller has valid no charge warranty, will sending the controller without that part void my warranty? Also it has a few scratches below the D-Pad that were made while opening, can also that void the warranty? I read that opening your controller didn´t void your warranty but I don´t read anything about this.

Warranty varies by region so it's best to look over this hardware warranty file that should be for your region when searching for it in your region. Here is the warrant information article:

https://support.microsoft.com/help/4089871/info-about-warranties-extended-service-plans-terms-conditions. Select the drop down where it says Consumer and then download the standard limited warranty file.

In the US, all Xbox accessories including the Elite controller has a 90 day warranty, although the Elite controller does have other options if I'm not mistaken if it goes past the 90 days. In the US, console's have a 1 year warranty, which includes accessories.

The warranty and service options will only be available in the region where the product was purchased because as I said earlier, warranties do vary based on region.

The Elite controller is definitely a very nice step up from the controller that comes with the console. You get a lot of opportunities for customization, and it feels great. If I understand your question correctly, you're wondering if the warranty on your
console will carry over to the Elite controller? Is it a warranty through Xbox or a third party such as Best Buy? The warranty on your Xbox will cover the Xbox and controller that came with it, but not the separately purchased Elite controller. If the warranty
is through a third party, it would be best to check with them. Hope this helps!

I'm sorry you're having trouble with your Xbox Elite Series 2 controller. If you are having issues with your second new controller, I would recommend looking into the warranty for the controller instead of purchasing a new one. Warranty information for Microsoft

You can get Microsoft Complete (extended warranty) for the Series 2 Elite controller at the time of purchase either online or from a physical Microsoft Store or you can contact a Microsoft Store sales agent within 45 days of purchase.

Hope this helps at least solve the cost problem of your controller not working properly. I have one myself and haven't found this to be an issue, so hopefully, you can get a new one that works as it should.
