Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 not working 1 month after warranty expired.

Well, I purchased my Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 in November of 2019, my warranty expired on March 16 of 2020. It is now April 16th and my right thumbstick does not register when
pushed down. I would consider myself a moderate gamer but for argument sake lets just say I put this controller through hell and back. For a controller that is almost $200, this was a ripoff. I haven't been this disappointed with a controller since I purchased
the first Xbox Elite Controller which I had to replace 2 times simply because the grips keep coming off due to the cheap glue they used. I was told by customer service that my best bet to get the controller serviced without having to pay an additional fee
was to walk into a Microsoft Store and speak to a rep but unfortunately all stores in my area are closed due to COVID-19. Is there another option for me during this very difficult time? I mean I'm already stuck in my home, my bank account is running dry due
to everything from food to toilet tissue being 3 times the price or being price gouged and now I can't even play Xbox with my nearly brand new controller because the damn thing broke internally with normal wear and tear somehow 1 month after my 4 month warranty
expired. Microsoft, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, your warranty period expired in February. For Elite Controllers, it's 12 months in the UK and 90 days in the US (unless purchased in an Elite bundle, which is 12 months). If you attempted the RMA process prior to the warranty expiring, customer
support might make an exception.

Personally, I would keep contacting support regardless of the warranty period expiring, as Microsoft knows these controllers are defective. In the US, there was an unofficial program offering a one-time free replacement to Series 1 owners.

For anyone else reading this response in the future:

Never buy Xbox Elite Controllers, including Series 2. They are overpriced and faulty.

When you bought the controller did you register it online? my warranty goes until 2021. Either way, if you explain this when you go into a Microsoft store I'm sure they'll understand and help you out. but due note that they are closed because of the virus.

it sounds basic but have you taken the sticks off and cleaned the base of the stick? sometimes on mine dust and stuff builds up. im sure you have already tried but some people dont think of this.

If you have i would recommend taking it back to the store you picked it up from when all of this stuff ends, I'm sure they will understand the problem youve had trying to get it replaced due to stores being closed.

The Elite Series 2 controller has a 1 year warranty.

If your controller isn’t working and needs replacing, go to https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/controller/controller-warranty and
enter the controller’s serial number at the bottom of that page. For the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, the 14-character serial number is in the lower centre on the back of the controller.
