Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 - "doesn't support new firmware on PC"

It's whatever the controllers firmware they are shipping with on the PC even connected they don't see the need to upgrade the firmware, but when connected to an xbox it does and once that has been completed mine worked. I have the brand new elite series 2 halo edition so maybe something needs to be changed for pushing this firmware to others on PC only instead of the need for a console.

Firmware version 517.3202.0 is the latest firmware version available for the Elite Series 2 controller. So your controller has the latest firmware available.

Don't forget the Elite Series controllers use a different firmware than the other controllers, because it has different features to the standard controllers.

My controller just recv'd an update about a month ago. Just bought a pc and connected controller which works perfectly however I am unable to configure my controller due to the "app not supporting my firmware on my controller"? Im a little confused. It's an xbox elite series 2 controller so how does the app not support it?

I have the very same issue with my Xbox Elite Controller Series 2. Very annoying indeed.

How can the Xbox firmware not be recognized by the PC software? Huge oversight by Microsoft...
