Xbox Elite Controller $Rubber Peeling Off$

I purchased an elite controller last November and in the last month the rubber around the left handle has started to peel off. I've attempted to use the Xbox Online Service Center to send it in for service/repair, but it does not accept the serial number
on the controller. If I attempt to use the Service Center using my console S/N, and claim it as an accessory the system does not accept the controller Part Number. Have made multiple attempts with no luck.

Here is an image of the controller rubber peeling off.

The controller was purchased in Nov. 2015, so not sure if warranty still applies. What do I need to do to resolve this issue?

Oh and the replacement panels don't fix when the rubber grips on the bottom of the controller start peeling. The Elite controller was a great idea, but poorly executed.

peel them both off. It feels fine you'll forget about it inside 1 day. Microsoft doesnt care or theyd have done something about it as this problem happens to everyone. Ever notice you can buy an extended warranty for just about everything?
Its cause they are confident it wont break. Notice theres no extended warranty on this junk, its cause they KNOW that they fall apart and it would cost to much giving almost everyone a second controller as everyone would send them back WHEN they break cause
its not a question of 'IF'. Im a grown adult, I take excellent care of my stuff. My elite had problems inside 2 months and continue getting worse 10 months later. Dont buy the eliite controller, its not worth the money because they fall apart

Thanks Matty, but that doesn't resolve the issue. Already been there and it sends me to the Xbox Online Service Center, which doesn't accept the S/N of the controller.

The rubber part peeling off seems to be a common problem.

I've seen 2 Elite's where the rubber came completely off and just fell off the controller within a few months. I got a regular controller through the Xbox Design Labs and have had it for years
and it still works perfect (no rubber grips or anything on it).

Then you will have to purchase a new one. You can also buy rubber controller wrap style things. That literarily wrap all around the controller. I've seen a few people go this route when some of the rubber started peeling off their elites.

I have 2 elite controllers myself and out of warranty but both controllers have the grips and underside of the rubber coming off .

Question the new xbox 1 elite controller 2s are coming out in november here in the Uk but what proof do i have that the rubber is not going to start peeling of theses because if i order 2 that's £320 when the rubber starts coming off which isn't good at
all for the price i might as well be paying for 2 scuf controllers . Is xbox giving any of us elite 1 uses a discount for buying elite 2s ? because owning the elite 1s where the rubber comes of in less than 12 months is not good and puts me off buying the
new ones when they do come out .

I had bad luck with all 3 of my elites with the rubber part peeling off too ☹️
