Xbox Elite Controller right analog stick.

Before I get into it, let me just say. The solution is not adjusting dead zone, because this isn't typical stick drift.

I can't seem to find a similar problem anywhere. No matter how much I look, I just get search results for dead zone, and static stick drift.

When playing a shooter, FPP or TPP, and move my right analog stick to adjust the camera or aim, about 20-35% of the time, the output exceeds the input. For example: I wanna move my camera 40 degrees to the right to shoot an enemy. Naturally, the camera should
stop turning when I stop pushing the analog stick (output directly reflective of input). Apparently not though! MY analog stick decides to keep going about 0.05-0.15 seconds after input stops, turning that 40 degrees into more like 60-65. Now, if this happened
every time, I'd just adjust some settings on the stick to compensate or get used to it, but since it seems to be random, but common, I find myself increasing frustrated.

I went into the elite controller settings and restored to default, then went to the button testing mode, and watched as the output would linger (I could actually see where it showed that the right stick was still registering input long after I stopped touching
it.)

So here are my questions. Anyone else have an issue like this? How do I solve this issue? Should I buy the white elite controller or wait until the next gen?

I've had issues with the analog sticks on my elite controller after a year of use. They should extend the warranty or something because this issue is common and linked to the crappy analog sticks they put in there controllers.

The same thing just happened to me. My RB wasn't working so they sent me a controller with a nasty stick drift on the right analog. I will NEVER buy a elite controller again.

Hi there!

As an Elite controller owner myself you did exactly what I would've done by going into the Accessories app and testing the sensitivity curve through the configuration. That data is good because generally the two indicators that show the actual distance the
analog stick is registering compared to what is actually being moved physically, tells you the difference in input when customizing the sensitivity curve.

Through your testing, the issue more than likely lies in the circuitry of the controller causing this added input with your right analog stick. In your example I'm guessing you play PUBG and this is where it is occurring but do you notice this same effect
in any other shooters you play?

If it happens no matter what game you play, then it's an issue with the internal components of the right analog stick and would need to be set up with an exchange if the controller is still in warranty.

I have 2 Elites drifting to the right from the left analog stick.

You will put in a service request here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/devices
under your console. Change the category to Accessories and then under select issue type select Elite Controller. Then input your PID number from the controller and click create repair order.
