Xbox Elite controller replacement due to drift - MS not honoring warranty

Unfortunately stick drift is common with all controllers form all platforms and occurs due to wear and tear.

The only way of fixing that issue is replacing/warrantying the controller or replacing the thumbstick sensors in the control yourself (requires good soldering skills)

I just had my recently purchased elite controller replaced under Microsoft warranty for a drifting left analog, they replaced it with a refurbished version that had TWO drifting analogs, my controller is now completely unusable and the warranty has since
expired. $250 down the drain, Microsoft customer service is all but non-existent, and I'm sitting here with an expensive brick. Microsoft simply couldn't care less about my plight, so much that there's no way to contact them.

There have been quite a few reports of drift on the Elite 2. If it's under warranty you can get it replaced though.

What update do you need

Unless you purchase a elite controller

You only get 90 days with any controller unless it is warranty repair the ita 90 days after that

Elite havr a year warranty hence the extra cost

Controllers purchased with a console only has 90day warranty not a year

The only exception to this is ms complete which you have to purchase and is applied directly to your ms account that you registered your console with

Controllers don't come with a very long warranty

They never have

Only exception is the joycons but thar was subject of a class action lawsuit which nintendo settled with an temporary replacement regardless of warranty status (seems to be ending soon with nintendo saying joycon drift has ended

Or.if you bought it used then it is upto your store not ms unless you are lucky and it's a open box which case it's the original purchaser purchase date not yours
