xbox elite controller repair?

I bought a Xbox elite controller 3-4 months ago and I've noticed the left stick is starting to get a little loose. It's still very playable but seeing as I paid 200$ for the controller I just would like to know how the warranty works through xbox.com.

I bought it from EB Games (Canada's version of Game Stop) - I don't believe I bought the extended warranty that EB games was offering because I thought I heard xbox.com has a life time warranty on it.

Your help is appreciated! I'm not looking to return it right away, just would sleep easier at night if I know the warranty is covering me. Also I'm nervous playing mortal kombat because of the rapid slamming of the sticks but if i knew warranty covers me
I would have a much better experience!

Need a xbox controller replacement

To get your controller serviced:

It would cover any defective parts on the controller but it'll need a replacement of the whole controller and since you do not know if you got the extended warranty i'd look for the receipt if you got one and it should tell you if you did or not.

You can request a
repair on the controller here in case you need to send it in.

Sorry you're having issues with your Elite controller. Xbox accessories have a 90 day warranty, so you may be past the day for a warranty replacement. To see what your options are, I would suggest contacting Xbox Support using
this link. They will be able to look at the serial and discuss what your replacement options are, if there are any available for you.

I will look for my receipt but I have a feeling I may have lost it.

I know my controller has a serial number so Xbox should be able to recognize its not fake.

I saw that request to send in controller on the site my question is how long is the warranty. Can i play until my controller is broken then send it in then do the same thing over and over?

I really dont want to hold back from playing fighting games even though i know over time it will do some damage to the sticks. I dont mind waiting for it to be repaired 1/2 times a year.

kinda like how i had to send my 360 in from red rings every year.

I think I understand your question, but correct me if I'm wrong. The warranty is from the original purchase date, and replacing a product doesn't "renew" the warranty.
