XBOX ELITE Controller registration, warranty, and replacement

My elite controller's right thumbstick has detached from the base and now has so much slack that it is unusable. It has not been miss-used or miss-handled. I want to register it and get it warranty replaced; however, I can not register my elite controller
because the serial number is two digits longer than your registration page allows... This is simply unacceptable for the cost and expectation of performance from this device and level of service expected for such a device. A little help here would be nice
because my Elite Controller WAS amazing...

@CrispmetalcM: You can probably check here to see warranty info
support.xbox.com/.../warranty-and-registration-faq and I cannot find a way to extend a warranty online? I have no device registered by Xbox yet.

support.xbox.com/.../servicing-elite-controller is more help too for the future about servicing the Elite controller.

You can't register components. You can send it in for repair/replacement if you have a copy of the sales receipt. The controller has a 90 day warranty. You can go here to setup for a service

Yeah, I have all my supporting documentation. Pre ordered in July, paid for in December. support.xbox.com was no help and landed me here on the forums. I'll try the toll free and see how that goes. I'm certain it will be interesting.

Any luck with this? My right bumper broke and the controller is basically unusable now (this had happened to me previously with a standard xbox one controller). The last time I tried to replace/repair a controller, they told me I the warranty did not apply
because I don't have an xbox one console to register the controller to. This is such ***...

I spent $160 on a controller that broke after 3 months of use and there's zero warranty.

My controller not only had the right bumper become unusable, but the rubberized grip has started to peel away from the controller body.. I have been so careful with it,(i.e. not dropped, thrown, or otherwise abuse it) and still it has problems like this.
I love my controller, it really is amazing, but for $160, it really does need to be covered better than a 90 day warranty, and I expected a little more from Microsoft..

hey, so what i did was go to amazon. find the elite controller click the add warranty, add the controller and warranty to cart remove the controller and

BAM youve got yourself a 4 year warranty for like 20 bucks.

Thanks for reaching out to us in forums for this issue. In relation to warranties, when it comes to controllers, if you have an Elite controller then you'll be pleased to know that it has a 1 year warranty
on it. The 90 day warranty is for the standard Xbox One controllers and other accessories. Should you need some help with your Elite controller, you may want to take a look at our support article entitled Servicing
