Xbox Elite Controller on PC?

So according to the Xbox Elite controller
page, there are 4 paddles which can be attached to the back which can be mapped to duplicate functions of the other buttons. A, B, X, Y, the triggers and bumpers, D-pad, and left/right thumb stick clicks. That's cool and all, but PC games often have larger
control schemes than can fit on a standard Xbox controller, which only have 16 buttons. It would be nice to have the ability to have an extra 4 inputs for a lot PC games, so I was wondering if Windows 10 will be able to read those paddles as their own separate
inputs if we want them to. I haven't been able to find information about this anywhere.

Since the remapping configuration is stored on the controller and not the console/pc itself I doubt you'll be able to do such a thing.

If PC games don't have native controller support there are third party apps out there which allow you to map any button to whichever keyboard key you like which might be an option.

However again I don't believe the 4 extra paddles will be seen as extra macro keys for pc

Well this explains my difficulty trying to map the paddles to independent functions. This is a major let down. Any change this will be changes in the future?

They work fine, you just need to be running the Xbox Accessories app on Windows 10

I hopy you've found out since this post that it IS in fact possible to remap the paddles to other keypress than the default duplacating A/B/X/Y. There is a driver extension that lets you program the buttons to any keypress or mouse function you'd like them
to represent. You can even make them send long macros of several keystrokes in sequence, which can be very valuable in melee combat situations.

i dont know if the elite controller has a adapter for windows pc (10) try reading this Can the Xbox one elite controller be used on PC?

i know this is his question but he said elite controller to a adapter not a regular xbox one controller on the link it says how to connect adapter from pc to xbox one controller he needs a elite controller adapter because all he is finding is regular xbox
one adapters to pc which he stated do not work for his elite controller

Hi Neecko92,

Seems like the only workaround now is to connect your Elite controller to a Xbox One console, and update your Elite controller via the Xbox One console. Then it will work on your PC again.

Have you by any chance attempted to connect the controller directly to the PC through a wired connection?

As well, you have mentioned that the controller that came with the Xbox One console is recognized on the PC, but that the elite controller is not recognized at all on the PC. This same elite controller, does it have any issues with connecting to the Xbox
One console?

Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. I understand you are having issues with the elite controller V2 staying connected via Bluetooth and hard-wire. Do you have other controllers you can test out on your Pc to see if the issue is specific to the
elite controller? If you don't have another controller, would you be able to test out the elite on a different Pc?
