Xbox Elite Controller is not remapping

I've installed the Accessories App onto my console so that I could remap the paddles. All I wanted to do was switch the "A" and "Y" so the "A" and "B" are on the right hand paddles and "X" and "Y" are on the left hand. I thought that the process wa pretty
straight forward, so I was surprised when I went in-game and the paddles hadn't been remapped. I went back into the app and on the first "Configure/Watch Video" screen the paddle layout changes to my configuration when I toggle between "1" and "2" so I know
that my remapping request is on the app. Unfortunately the controller itself did not take the remapping. I preordered this controller the day after it was announced at E3, so not only am I disappointed that the controller is not working after waiting 4 months,
but honestly for $150 the expectation was that bugs like this did not occur at launch. Please help me figured out what is going wrong.

Xbox Elite paddles

Hello, I bought the Xbox Elite controller for my PC and I very satisfied with it, but I have a question. Elite controller have four paddles that copy ABXY default and in special app from WinStore I can remapping it but only on controller buttons. On PC it
will be very useful to use this 4 paddles like unique buttons because some games like Elite Dangerous have many button-options. Question: will Microsoft make update for Elite controller on PC, that make 4 paddles unique buttons?

Elite Controller LEGACY STICK REMAPPING

^ Phew that's a relief! . Although now you've mentioned Gears I'm intrigued!

 

It could need an update. Have you connected the controller to your console and checked to make sure that there are no updates for it?

 

I will try this when I get home... I wasn't expecting to have to update the controller when they just came out on Tuesday. Xbox support also suggested that I power cycle the console and then to try to remap again.

 

You might also want to make sure that after remapping the buttons, press the "back" button on the controller until you get all the way back to the main menu of the Application. My settings didn't take affect until I backed out completely from the setup menu
in the application. If you just remap the buttons and then press the Guide button to return to your game then the settings in the App may not take effect.

 

FINAL SOLUTION:

Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will power down.

Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

Note If you don't see the green boot-up animation when the console restarts, repeat these steps. Make sure that you hold the power button until the console completely shuts down.

Important If your console is in Instant-On power mode, the above steps will shut the console completely off. Instant-On mode, or the ability to turn on your console by saying "Xbox on," won't be enabled until you restart the console.

I went back into the app, had to reconfigure the button layout, backed out and the controller was set...

Ultimately an easy solution to a frustrating problem

There is, it's now within the "Button Mapping" page after you go into Manage Configuration.
