Xbox Elite Controller 2 short trigger issues

I just got my controller, and it has exactly the same issue: the shortest triggers just won't work. Updating the firmware doesn't help. I think it's because the default trigger dead zone is too large - it's even larger than the shortest trigger. And hence
the triggers simply fail. Hope this can be fixed by upgrading the firmware in the future but not a design flaw.

I understand that... I am saying that my trigger just simply doesnt work at all if it is set for short trigger, even in the accessories app

Generally, the shortest trigger option does not work well with driving games or other games where an action requires a full range trigger press to get to the maximum point so to say. In order to correct this issue, you need to calibrate the trigger dead
zones and sensitivities in the Xbox Accessories app. In the app there is a scale with 2 number settings for each trigger. The left number is the dead zone so the higher the number the more the trigger has to be pressed to start engaging. The right number
determines how far the trigger has to be pressed to reach maximum, so the lower this number is, the closer it resembles a button where it doesn't take much at all to activate the command. There should be a visual representation as well while you press down
the trigger to see that it's being recognized.

Try adjusting your trigger sensitivity in the Xbox Accessories app while you have the shortest trigger applied and let us know if that helps!

By the way resetting to default/updating firmware doesn't help. I have asked customer service for a replacement.
