Xbox Elite Controller 2 Register for Warranty Replacement

I purchased my Xbox Elite Controller 2 brand new from Gamestop, and within 60 days the Right Bumper (RB) and Y button has continuously become more and more unresponsive to the point where the RB button registers approx 50 - 60% of the time. It's under warranty
and I have the receipt.

Looks like there is no way to talk to a support agent on the phone about this, and they send me to links where I have to enter the controller's serial number. I've tried to do this many many times and doubled checked the number over and over, however it
always pops up an error and says the serial number is incorrect/can't be found. So I can't proceed that way.

The closest I got was going through the virtual chat, and when the serial number error displays it gives me the option to upload my receipt. So I upload the image of the receipt and enter my information.

The response I got in email was that I would get a reply from an agent within 24 hours. This was about a week ago and no response (I checked my spam).

I'm submitting another request again through the virtual agent and uploaded my receipt and I'm waiting for a response.

The Xbox Elite Controller is almost $200, and I've now seen reports of these controllers breaking often, but people have gotten them replaced. What is the correct procedure to report an issue for these controllers still well within the warranty???

Yes I'm disappointed as well and surprised that this is so hard. At this point I will take a refurbished one because my controller isn't working and I feel like I wasted $200.

How did you get the replacement?

if possible, take the controller and receipt back to Gamestop to get a replacement.

this will be the easiest and quickest method of getting a replacement as they should be able to do this on the spot.

if you can't do that, make sure you have registered the controller before trying to get it repaired/replaced through the Xbox warranty.

go to https://account.microsoft.com/devices/ and sign in with your Xbox account/profile then click on Add Device (on the blue banner at top of screen) and follow the instructions
to register an Xbox accessory.

if you still need to talk to Support go to https://beta.support.xbox.com/contact-us and click the Contact Us button. you might need to try a few different combinations
in the drop down menus to get the option to request a call back from Support,

You have to register the serial number on your Microsoft account before you can request a repair. And you have to do it from your phone or computer.

If you've registered your controller in your account you should be able to view it under your devices. From there, click on the controller and start a service request under hardware. That should do the trick. But yeah same sentiments as you i guess. Can't
believe that microsoft would give ys such horrible quality control on their products. And not even offering to replace them with new ones. It's like buying a new car, having a problem with it after a few days, sending it back and getting a second hand car
in return. Truly horrible Microsoft.

I went to Gamestop but I didn't purchase their warranty because I was going to stick with Microsoft. They directed me to the Microsoft website.

Wish I purchased the Gamestop Warranty though...
