Xbox Elite Controller 2 Bluetooth Issue

This is a weird one, just bought a brand new elite controller 2 and straight away noticed an issue with it after connecting it to my windows 10 desktop via bluetooth. At first the issue was that every time I pressed the A button it would function as the
xbox/power button and open the windows game overlay (both in and out of games), to fix this I had to turn off the shortcut keybind that allows you to open the windows overlay with the xbox button. Everything worked fine for about a minute but then the A button
had somehow binded to the f12 button and was taking screenshots while playing any game on Steam, messed around with the preset button on the controller and it seemed to fix it for a short while before having the same issue couple seconds later. I also changed
the steam controller settings to a regular controller preset instead of the xbox controller preset which was the defult and that didnt help. When playing games launched from origin the A button had now binded to the windows key and was tabbing my game out
whenever I pressed it. I did check both windows updates and my bluetooth drivers and everything is up to date as far as I could tell, also my regular xbox controller works fine over bluetooth (minus its own problems which are unrelated to this case).

ps. If I use the elite controller with a wired connection it works perfectly, but I dont want to use it that way permanently because that has caused other controller issues for me in the past.
