Xbox elite controller (1) has a thumbstick issue...

Hello all,

So I've noticed a decline in the way the left thumbstick has been working. It used to be okay and then slowly has gotten worse to the point where I don't even play games because it affects it so much.

Here's the situation:

My left thumbstick will take forever to move up or down, often won't move at all. The physical stick movement is just fine and smooth, however, the input just doesn't work. There are two weird things here...

1. It moves left and right PERFECTLY fine.

2. When I take the magnetic thumbstick off and use the little nub the magnetic thumbstick connects to, the controller works fine.

At this point, the left thumbstick constantly has activity even if the controller is sitting there. It will be move up most times when I don't touch it.

I think it is important to say that I tested all of this with the xbox accessories app, specifically the thumbstick section.

I also think it's important to say that the controller PHYSICALLY moves just fine, but FAILS to move UP AND DOWN on the xbox screen.

I don't know how to fix this, if anyone has any idea, please let me know!

Have you synced and update the controller again with your box? Link. Have you tried it on the PC?

If you did and the issue is still here, I'm afraid it is a hardware failure. Do you have a warranty for it?

1 Day one Xbox one controller.

1 Elite controller.

And no problems.

Bought an Xbox 360 controller mostly every year because of thumbsticks deadzone problems.

So for me,the choice is easy.

Each Elite controller series 2 comes with 1 set of paddles. You can order replacement paddles, thumbsticks etc.

Series 1 paddles, thumbsticks is not compatible with series 2.
