    Xbox Elite 2 - Trigger Issues with Android


    I recently bought a new Xbox Elite 2 Controller and the triggers do not respond with any game on my Android phone when connected with Bluetooth. All other buttons and triggers work normally. I have tested multiple games and none respond to trigger input.

    The controller is updated to the latest firmware. The phone is a Samsung Galaxy 22 Ultra. When using a regular XBox Controller then triggers do function normally so this problem is unique to the Elite 2.

    My last test was to connect the Elite 2 to the phone with a usb cord. The triggers do respond but all the button mapping are broken in severe ways. The triggers react to inputs that should come from the right thumbstick and other button mapping is off as well.

    That could be a possibility

    From your side I'm thinking couple options left to try:

    1. Try downgrading your Xbox controller firmware to the previous version just to see if that's the thing causing the issue

    2. You could try installing a previous firmware (or Android version) for your Samsung device, but if finally the issue persists you may need to send this feedback to both Samsung team and Xbox team:

    Yes, I tried unpairing and pairing again but nothing fixed it. I searched and I see others have had problems with triggers not working with older Samsung Notes and I'm thinking that it is probably related. The problem is none of the posts say exactly what fixed the issue other than 'disabling accessibility functions'. I have all of the accessibility option disabled and it doesn't fix the issue. I do not currently have another Android phone.

    The Galaxy Ultra 22 does have a pen like the Notes so possibly something with how the Elite 2 triggers function and with Samsung devices that have pen input is not compatible? I just can't seem to find the app or function to disable.

    That's odd seems like an issue with the phone, did you try deleting your controller from Bluetooth devices, then restart it and try syncing the Xbox controller again?

    Are you able to test it with another android phone?
    This helps us to isolate even more the issue
